To start our day, since I was already feeling guilty for not being at work, I decided that I would just add to those feelings and have a guilt-filled breakfast. So Josh, Charlie, Sheba and I got into my van...
And crossed the Potomac River into Maryland...
And went to the only place that you can buy guilt on a dollar menu...
Guilt or not, it's good to be home today!
I'm feeling a bit more like myself already. I hope you're enjoying your Tuesday!

Hey Kim, we all need those mental health days. Enjoy! And I'm sending good thoughts you way for Carrie's surgery tomorrow. :-)
ReplyDeleteOk, so all you really needed was a guilt free breakfast and see now you are feeling better. I too take my Roscoe with me to McDonalds. he loves to go for a spin. Have a great rest of the day off.
ReplyDeleteANA
Looks like the perfect remedy!
ReplyDeleteToo funny and so true! I took 3 days off last week for "sanity preservation" because I was feeling the same. I'm happy you're feeling better. Love the photo of the3 dogs in the van, that is just too cute!
ReplyDeleteYou know, Kim, now that you mention it, I could go for an Egg McMuffin myself!...:)JP
ReplyDeleteI am glad you took time for yourself. As MOM says, "if we do not take care of oursleves we can not take care of others." Love the picture of the pups in the van.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
Did your friends also have breakfast out? I'll bet they didn't feel a bit of guilt.
ReplyDeleteWe're thinking about CarrieAnne and sending good doggy vibes her way. Let us know when it's over.
Sue
sometimes we all need a 'me' day. and you needed to fill yourself back up. :)
ReplyDeleteDon't know what your McDonald's has for sale but here we've got $1 sausage biscuits. And last time I went to work and wasn't feeling it, I just had to have one to start my day. When I found out hash browns were 2 for $1 I was actually glad I went to work that day!!! :) Stevie@ruffledfeathersandspilledmilk.com
ReplyDeleteGlad you gave a day to yourself!
ReplyDeleteMental health days are essential now and then to refresh our minds and bodies. Dogs help and so do dollar menus. Glad you got both.
ReplyDeleteDid you get stopped at the border for bringing that $1 contraband into Virginia?

I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed a day at home, and was able to share breakfast with your doggie children. I shall keep you in my thoughts for the remainder of the week.
ReplyDeleteWishing you all well...
Warmly,
Judy
Kim, I'm glad you had a "mental health" day, that's what I used to call it anyway. I so love your home and setting-so very pretty. We all need to take it easy and sometimes that means a good old meal from McD's. Wish I could come hang out with you and the pack.
ReplyDeleteHugs today.
Noreen & Hunter
I hope today gave you the peace, solitude and time to fill yourself back up to cope with life. *HUGS*
ReplyDeleteAlways good to take a day for yourself darling....love Ria...xxx...
ReplyDeleteBOL! You accident try substituted "apathy" for "empathy". Your typist is an honest gal!!
ReplyDeleteOh I would have went higher up the guilt chain and went to Bob Evans for breakfast. I did not know Dawn kills fleas. Thanks for the info. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteSweet William The Scot
I know what you mean about stress getting to be too much, I had a day like that yesterday, I'm feeling a bit better today, but I could use a whole week off or more! Preferably somewhere far, far away with my Sweetheart!
ReplyDeleteThey have oatmeal at Mickey D's now...lol. Don't have to have the grease, (but it sure is yummy). Hope you had a nice day.
ReplyDeleteSometimes a day off and guilt from the dollar menu are all it takes to make a day better.
ReplyDeleteCindy
I sure hope the pooches enjoyed their trip to mcdonalds and helped relieve mom's stress! We all need a day to ourselves every once in a while. No need to feel guilty. Have a good night! !!
ReplyDeleteSHE's been to THAT McDonalds!! We love it when SHE feels guilty...which SHE should sometimes. We get the best treats!
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
I'm so glad you took the day for yourself and did exactly what made you feel good in the moment. Good for you!

I hear you about life's stressors! I've had more than my share the last two days, too. I think a mental health day is a fabulous idea! I'm trying to tough it out to the long weekend, but I'm not sure if I'll make it. I love guilt on a dollar menu budget! lol
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day! Sometimes, you just gotta take care of yourself!

Ooo... Looks like a tasty start to the day!
ReplyDeleteI had a supervisor tell me one time that when you felt like you just couldn't go into work that it was your mind telling you that you needed a day off - every once in a while a mental health day is good for you!!

ReplyDeleteGood for you for recognizing that you needed some time to yourself, and taking it!!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that you are feeling more relaxed.

I love your remedy and by the looks of those happy faces in the car, they do too! Just catching up here. Too funny that Todd ...eating the butterfly!

ReplyDeleteI came to check on Carrie Ann

Glad you had a good.
ReplyDeleteGood for you for finding the strength to take care of yourself for the day! Why work when you are feeling out of sorts? I've gone to work before knowing full well that I needed to be alone and then regretting the decision to be at work rather than at home. I later realized that I need to listen to my instincts rather than give in to what society would rather have me do. In my opinion, taking the dogs to McDonald's is therapy and you deserved it as much as they did!
ReplyDeleteYep, we have those days too where we end up sitting outside at Starbucks, chatting with strangers about this big red dog, then ends at the dogpark. We just don't drive as far....BOL
ReplyDeleteRooooooooooooooooooos from Easton
PeeEss: we are so happy CA is doing well.
Have a great holiday weekend.
We are going to have perfect weather here (driest August on record!!) - a good thing for Seattle.
