This morning I'm taking Bubba for his 6th session of swimming. I can tell the difference in that he's so much more stable on his feet than he was previously. He can still be a bit "tippy" but not nearly like he was. I'm going to ask the rescue if we can sign up for 10 more session--Swimming is so much easier for him verses taking him for a walk. I did weigh him the other day to see if he'd lost any weight and am proud to say that the scale said he weighed 10 pounds (about 4.5 kg) MORE than he did when he came to us--I'm hoping that was wrong and it was because he was soaking wet...
When I get back I need to find a place in my already crowded kitchen for the set of dishes I brought back from my Mom's. This will mean that I have 3 full sets of dishes to use for 2 people. I really don't want to pack them away. I think dishes should be used and enjoyed. I bought them for my Mom who put them away and never did. I also brought back embroidered linens, dessert cups from when I was a kid and a picture that was hanging in my Mom's bedroom--It once hung in my Grandfather's house (of course!)
Since I've been feeling rather philosophical lately, I'll end my post today with this:
May today there be peace within. (CC)May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. (Hamlet)
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. (Sheba)
May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. (Chub Brothers)
May you be content with yourself just the way you are. (Charlie)
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. (Sheba)
May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. (Chub Brothers)
May you be content with yourself just the way you are. (Charlie)
Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. (Rudi)It is there for each and every one of us.
Enjoy your weekend!!

What warm thoughts.
ReplyDeleteIt's going into another heat wave here, but the creatures know when it's time to he migrating! It will probably be summer one day and a winter blizzard the next.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have your Mother's dishes! I have some very vintage odds and ends that my used. I use them too, no use having something like that and not using them. The dish sets - go eclectic and mix them up or use different ones on different days.
Very cute picture!
Have a relaxing day today!
Cooled off? We need to move! Have a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteHi Kim
ReplyDeleteWere back to breathe in some fresh air from Golden Pines. We can feel the breeze too, and last night we heard the Canada Geese fly over. They must have been on their way to your house.
Such good news that Bubbba is feeling stronger. I am sure that being wet is what caused the scales to say 10 pounds heavier.
I have a bunch of my moms things too, ,,,beautiful towels that I had given her, but she never used, because she said they were too pretty.
I can imagine that you will use those dishes everyday. We love the old picture.
All the photos of CC,Hamlet, Sheba, Club Brothers, Charlie and Rudi were precious, and the words touch our heart. We are feeling philosophical too.
Thank you for sharing Golden Pines with us. We feel like were home now

Wonderful post. Beautiful pictures and wise words. Interestingly enough, my grandmother had that very same picture. I don't know who got it but it brings back so many good memories.

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful blog. Thank you for the good thoughts. I always love it when you have pictures of the dogs.
ReplyDeleteI have you beat on dishes, however. I have four complete sets of dishes for one person. I have my Mother's set, my Aunt M's set, one of my Aunt D's sets and a set that I bought when I lived, for a few short years, in an apartment in town. Then, I also have my Mom's casual luncheon set, and her fancy luncheon set. Sigh, I think I need to hold a yard sale.
Look at all those pups ~ each one with a smile on their face! Kitty? Not so much. But that's why we love cats ~ they are not easily impressed. :)
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great weekend Kim!
