The Interview

Today was a big day.  Todd was going for his 'interview' to attend the new daycare. I could tell by the 8 page application and being told to expect to stay there for at least 2 hours, that this wasn't going to be an ordinary place for him to spend a couple of days a week.

We've had nothing but rain the entire week so needless say, Todd was smelling a bit 'doggy.'  So I remedied that this morning with a bath.  How could he be denied entry into a daycare being clean and fluffy and smelling like lavender and mint?  Todd was not particularly happy about the bath, especially before breakfast--Being a terrier, he had his own opinion and I think the picture below pretty much summed up his thoughts on the whole thing...
The evaluation went really well.  He did just fine with meeting everyone two and four legged.  The person doing the interview said several times how nicely he got along with the other dogs.  Thankfully there were no cats there!
After an hour-and-a-half, I was told that 'they thought Todd would be a good fit there.' I knew he would be, how could you say no to that face anyway?  I know I can't!
Finally, I'll just let you all know that Reggie has eaten all of her meals today, and is up and around just a bit more than yesterday--A little golden ray of sunshine at the end of a rainy day!

  6. I agree with the others!! It was a good day for Golden Pines. Todd is a handsome guy!!! Reggie is a doll!!
Tinker came through just fine. This whole thing will be interesting when she comes home. She is such a busy girl all the time. She sleeps less then any dog I have ever known.

  8. I have been dying to know how Todd's interview would be. I knew he would do well, I was mostly concerned about the new daycare, and hoped they would be what all doggie daycares should be. I hope it works out.

I tried to comment about Reggie on another of your post, and couldn't get it to go through. I am having big-time computer problems, or blogger issues one, not sure which. So glad Reggie is feeling better.

I love the pic of Todd upside down after his bath. My Sophie does the same thing, only she does it in red dirt. Ugh!

  11. Hooray for good news. The interview process may be a pain, but it does speak well for the owners. They are not likely to accept dogs that are trouble and that's where you want Todd to be.

  12. Sampson and Delilah went back to daycare Tuesday (and they are going tomorrow too) and they love being back with all their doggie friends, I so glad you found a place you are comfortable with. (I'm assuming you asked about their policies regarding bark collars?)

So happy to hear Reggie is feeling better, the rain may have something to do with her feeling oogy with her injuries. It works that way for humans so why wouldn't it do the same for dogs?

  13. Glad he got the green light, these people don't have any weird punishments for the little guy, do they?

They do smell better after a wash, :-)

Glad Reggie is doing better! She seems like a gentle soul.

  17. Boy, we have missed a few days of posts and feel really lost.

First we are crossing our paws for dear Reggie and secondly, of course the accepted Todd

Who in their right mind would pass him over.

  20. And how is the caretaker of all these fine animals feeling? If I recall, you weren't feeling very well yourself. I hope you're feeling better as well as the dogs!

Oh good JOB, Todd! Now just remember that you don't need to bark at your new school!

I hope that Reggie continues to improve.

    Hugs!

  30. Kim,
Just catching up on your last few posts(on vacation).
Glad to hear Reggie is eating and up and around.
Todd has a new day care which seem like good timing if your not happy with the present one. Your heart knows best at times.
Doctors appt. always get me upset before and after. White coat syndrome I guess.
    Have a good weekend.

  31. Nobody can deny that cute little face. But, I have to tell you that hearing that Reggie is better was the highlight of this post for me. I don't know why, but, of all of your dogs, she has become special to me. So this is very good news, indeed.

  33. I found your Blog a while back and have to confess falling in love with your Golden Family, Charlie and now Todd. I am glad your Todd was accepted at doggie daycare.

I recall a time when my youngest Golden was rejected from a daycare because they thought there would be issues with my sweet boy taking toys.
