Christmas is in Sight!

I can't believe that it's less than a week before Christmas.  I feel like I should be running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to get everything done, but I'm really not.  I only have 1 more day of work for the week.  Its been pretty hectic with kids home from college and people wanting to use up their dental benefits for the year.  To keep us going and to ease the stress, the office has been totally bombarded with gift baskets.  We’ve had everything from Walkers shortbread and Lindor Truffles to homemade cookies and fudge.  I happen to be a chocoholic (and love other sweets too) but I usually do pretty well avoiding them.  But when my co-workers and I sit in our break-room and they’re right in front of us, they’re hard to resist!

We are also having the most random weather.  We had a light dusting of snow on Sunday, but the past couple of days it has been in the 50’s, tomorrow the weatherman said it may get to 60 degrees.  My forsythia bushes are budding and even have a few blooms on them.  This is December, right?
The dogs are doing pretty well.  Todd is not attending day-camp this week. He’s now more than 8 months old, so I’m trying to get him used to staying home during the day.  He does stay in a crate while we’re gone, and the dog-walker does come midday and he gets a break.  The past couple of days, he seems to have a  real fascination with Carl's computer.  It makes me wonder what he’s doing when we're not around?
I hope your week is going well!!

  1. Whoa girl, you need to take a breather. A lovely slow walk with Wendy would be my suggestion.

And pictures. We are crushin on her at our house.

Toby looks pretty content with the weather you are getting and of course Todd is doing all kinds of mischief while you are looking the other way.

    Merry Christmas

  2. I agree with Bert take a long nice walk.
Very cool Toby is home more. I still can't stay home by my self (and I'm almost 12 years old). I worry to much and that makes my MOM worry. But at least I love Bert's daycare so it's all good.
    Blessings,

  3. This time of year is usually really hectic for me, too! I'm just taking things a lot easier this year, though! I figure I'll get to things when I get to them. Having the puppy here has made my concept of time and priorities a lot different!

  7. Merry Christmas to you, Kim, your human family and your pupz!

After having my blog hijacked several months ago, I now plan to start a-new after the first of the year, so I hope you can visit when I do open again.

What kind of mischief are you getting into? Are you thinking of sending Santa a letter on the computer?

  17. I could imagine how tired you must be when you get home from all the work at the office. how do you even have time to take the dogs out for walks and feed the, and give them love. Todd is a cutie. That picture of him on the chair near the laptop is adorable. Toby is so cute. He reminds me of my Roscoe, except Roscoe is only 3 right now. How old is Toby?
Hoep you can rest this weekend and get lots of quiet and relaxing time with family.
I would love to have some of your cold weather sent my way. We will be having 80 degree weather here in Miami. It never feels like Christmas here.
Next year we are hoping to go somewhere cold so that Roscoe can play in the snow.

  21. Forsythia in bloom!? Should make for an interesting spring. They are saying here that all this mild weather will result in a drastic reduction of insects (mosquitoes, black flies etc) next spring. That's OK with me!
Watch that chocolate...but not too long! lol

  23. Oh that little Todd, what a character! Yep it's been hectic here too which is why I was not around much the last week, but I am hoping the next 4 days will be blissfully quiet and peaceful (fingers crossed)! Hugs, love and merry wishes to you and yours Kim!

  25. Samba likes to play on my computer when I leave the house. I have to remember to shut the door so she doesn't have access.

Our weather is strange, too. 60s one day and 30s the next. So far only rain, no snow.

  26. Lots of lovely gift baskets, yum, yum. Glad Todd is getting used to staying home. We are having the strangest December weather here too! ... :0)

  27. Kim,
All those baskets with cookies and chocolate, yum! I think I would have to treat myself to a sample during coffee break.
Christmas is almost here and I'm just over whelmed with stuff still to get finished, plus grocery shopping. Wish there was a magical elf to help out.
Todd looks so cute looking at the computer. Perhaps he is thinking of writing a post for you or a letter to Santa Dog.
He is a joy to watch through your eyes.

  33. I'm glad you're not getting too stressed over the holidays! The only reason I'm not is that I managed to get all my wrapping and shopping finished last weekend! I'm nearly done work as well, I'm free as of 4:30 P.M. on Friday for two whole weeks!
