A Lame Duck Session

A very busy week as co-workers were on vacation, and we are cramming 5 days of work into 4.  Outside, the cold has returned, but a beautiful crescent moon has been along with me on the drive home, and Venus has also been visible.  I can't believe that it's two days and counting before the New Year.  I'm already planning a resolution or two for the year ahead, one of them is one that many of us make which is to eat a bit healthier.  However I know that I don't dare begin that one as I am experiencing what I am going to call a 'Lame Duck Session' -- You may  know what I'm talking about--The week after Christmas and before New Year's day where you would gladly begin a healthier diet if it weren't for all the leftover sweets and tempting food that seems to be everywhere you are!  Today I had a nice lunch with a very dear friend who was so thoughtful and bought both us each a delicious, freshly baked cookie that I enjoyed every single bite of as we chatted in front of a warm fireplace.  I felt absolutely no remorse for my continued indulgence!

Happening at our house are the teenage antics Todd.  Tired of barking into the darkness, a pulled out chair became an invitation to see what was on the table it was sitting next to.  A black laundry marker was used to recolor my rug and his paws. Onto the next thing which was to chase the cat.  Checking that off the list, it was then time to see if the laundry basket held a sock in need of chewing up. Not disappointed, and that task completed it was then time to jump into my lap to play the newest computer game which is to jump at anything that moves on the monitor. I ended that game and Todd found his next one. All of this was before 6:30 this morning.  I don't think he feels any remorse for his indulgences either!

  5. And they're always so cute when they're doing all those things. Sky still checks the basket for socks and Samba will drag a kitchen chair to wherever she needs it.

Has he opened a pillow yet to let either foam pellets or feathers fly around the room? That one is lots of fun.

  9. When Sadie Louise was a pup,I came one day to find disaster! She had totally destroyed a Ralph Lauren king size comforter :( I had it for only about a year, and planned on having it for many more to come! It was something I had to have and saved up for :)
There was fluff from one end of the house to the other!! Oy. For months we continued to find pieces of it. Ha!

I do believe that Todd is doing what every pup rightfully gets a license for when born...being a tornado of mass destruction with the cutest face ever!!! he is adorable!
Hope you had a wonderful holiday and thanks for coming by my place :)

And the best part of being a pup loved so much, is.....you get away with it.....by looking cute.

Happy New Year my friend.....and HOW IS MY WENDY Doing.

  12. I am so jumbled this week -- I eat sensibly during the day, then have 3 cookies and ruin it. Blah!

Todd's so cute -- I would not be able to stay angry with him at all. :)

  14. Oh I just want to rub his little pink belly. He is the epitome of a terrier and you just can't help but love the mischief on his face. Just as long as I'm not the one cleaning up his mess:-)

Erik went to get us Greek Salads today, then also brought home a box of desserts. Gah!

  17. I can't leave anything in the small wastebaskets around the house. Tucker always noses in them for the paper or whatever. Teenage times indeed!

Oh and the moon has been so incredible...a Cheshire Cat smile is what I see from our home.

  21. Todd is so cute. I love the last picture.
I know what you mean about eating healthier. I say the same thing year after year and end up eating all the wrong things within a month or so.

Happy New year to you and your family. Hope 2012 brings you good health, lots of love and peace.

  23. Hi there, Oh what a rascal he is! I can just imagine him running all over the house getting into mischief and you are so patient-I'd probably be a bit upset. Loved seeing the photos of him though-he is a doll.
As for having a cookie, well that doesn't sound too bad. I agree that we all need to eat healthier.
I hope to trim down during the New Year. Sending love you way to all of you.

  24. Isn't it just adorable when a smart little terrier puppy acts just like a smart little terrier puppy? Especially when it's at your house instead of mine? Happy New Year, blogger buddy.
