Here's Hoping

This my friends, has been a hard week.  And given that, as a blogger, it is my duty to turn it all into a post about the week that was and is a testimony to just how rotten it's been...  So IN BRIEF...

Charlie is still wearing the cone of shame.  He has a place on his front leg that he won't leave alone which resulted in a hot spot.  It was almost healed and I took the collar off, and he picked up where he left off.  I put it back on.
The lovely Miss Annie hasn't eaten much for more than a day.  At more than 14 years old, it of course has me worried.
Josh, who really needs to be groomed, is really favoring his front right leg after he jumped off the bed. He has rods in his leg that was broken when he was a puppy and I was told a couple of years ago that there may come a time when they need to be removed.  I'm hoping that time hasn't come.
Cissy's appetite has stayed consistent.  But her activity level is down a bit this week.
CarrieAnne got stung by something this week too.  I don't know what it was, but it really packed a punch.
And I seemed to have lost misplaced one of my diamond earrings...
Aside from all of this, there have been a few lighter moments this past week...Here's one that came from a photo I took that Todd was part of. Carl has started physical therapy and he goes to his appointment straight from work. However, he forgot to take his tennis shoes with him and afterwards came home wearing his street shoe with a white sock and his now trademark boot--Todd face in the photo mirrored my reaction to his white legs and "foot-attire!"
I'm hoping that by the end of the weekend there will be a few more lighter moments to add.  I just hope that Saturday is sunny because I could really do with some sunshine.  Or a good strong wind to blow away the blues.
 Here’s hoping...

  1. Kim, what a week, and I send so many loving wishes for everyone, that tomorrow finds all things better. We care so much for our beloved pets, and when their health is not good, cannot help but worry. Here we have a deep red sunset, rain clouds in the south, grey sky in the north, and maybe sunshine for you. Fond greetings, Jean.

  10. Ups and downs. Looks like the downs outweighed the ups for a while. It's muggy and cloudy here for now, but storms are supposed to come again this afternoon. Perhaps tomorrow will be better.

  23. i don't know in virginia...
but here it is simply hot.
the humidity levels have been like a tropical rain forest though... with no rain.
it makes people and dogs feel physically sick.
    everybody's talking about it.
    maybe there too?
hopefully whatever it is will pass and you'll all feel better soon.
    make that SOON!!!
    love and hugs xoxo

  25. Oh dear, what a doozie! I hope your weekend is going well and that Charlie's reason for the cone of shame is not too serious! One of my mom's dogs ended up in one last week after surgery to clear up an intestinal obstruction caused by a toy he shredded!

  31. I'm not religious but often tell people who have lost something to
" Pray to St Anthony "
It worked when my friend's mother found her lost engagement ring ( in a hankie in her handbag though she had searched thoroughly ) I hope your find your lost earring

  39. Now that's a lot of news! Poor Charlie. I should show Gracie a picture of him and tell her that will be her future if she keeps licking that right paw... lol. Good to see all the 'kids' here and get caught up on what's happening. Todds face is priceless!

  40. I know some weeks can really pile it on, esp. when you have the critters. I KNOW they don't conspire...but sometimes. If it is as humid there as it is here, maybe that is affecting some of them? If you have any, try organic coconut oil rubbed into the hot spot. Minty had a bad one at the base of her tail, and I had to shave the hair around it away and then applied the coconut oil once a day and it was healed within a couple of days. Ashley had been licking her feet raw, so I shaved those down too, rubbed in the oil at night and outfitted her in 'leggings' and about a week later she was doing much better. Stuff really seems to work! I've been using it on the little stray who is bald from the flea allergies and it's helped keep his skin healing and healthy and now regrowing hair.. Yikes..didn't mean to sound like a commercial. Hope this week is better!
