The Day Off

My day off work today took Carl and me to Old Towne Alexandria for a little business. We made the nearly 2 hour drive with no problem and arrived on time.  However, the trip home there were a few wrong turns that even our navigation app couldn't keep up with.  Eventually we found our way, but we were on the opposite side of town from where we needed to be, passing near the Washington Monument.
After stopping for lunch, we were finally home by late afternoon.
In the warmth of the late afternoon sun, we spent some time outside with all the dogs. Cricket was having a pretty good day today, but still seems to tire easily.
She has pretty much gotten over her bout with vestibular syndrome. However, she's has had a couple of days this week that haven't been the best. I think it may be her arthritis that's bothering her, because she sometimes has problems walking and staying on her feet. But her appetite is good, thanks to the added cat food! So, we'll continue to take each day as it comes for this little lady that has just less than 3 months until her 17th birthday.
I hope you've had a pretty good day too.

  1. Wow...little Cricket looks amazing for 17! Would an acupuncture session help with her arthritis pain and balance issues?

I've had a few wobbly days myself these past few weeks so I know it can be very frustrating. Trying to build up some strength to help my balance.

More good vibes are coming Cricket's way this week.

  2. We don't know if we would trust those apps or not. We get so many people out here who are lost-- and their app brought them a total wrong way.
The place you had lunch was very beautiful, but its no fun taking the long way home is it!
Cricket-- your looking soo beautiful and happy,,and soon you will be 17 So wonderful to have some warm afternoon sunshine!
And I am sure the best part for the Goldens was when you and Carl came home,

  3. Cricket, you are one lovely girl, just keep putting one foot in front of the other, slowly and steadily. Todd, you keep up that good work, your smile will make everyone feel happy, Kim, even down here sometimes our GPS takes us another way. The first TomTom, it was so faulty, returned and now the Garmin is lots better. Jean.

  5. Glad Cricket likes the cat food added - at her age, I would feed her anything she wanted, minus the salt and spices, of course.
    GPS... hateful things.
    Todd's looking good!

  6. Great picture of Todd! Those expressive eyes!
My goodness, at little Cricket's age, I think she has a right to get a little tired. She is adorable. Sending good wishes for he continued improved health. Almost 17, amazing. I think it has a lotto due with all of the loving care you have given her.
Hoping all of Buddy's eye ointments and shampoos are helping him to feel better.
It looked like a beautiful day, despite getting lost. Your salad looks delicious!
