Racing With Christmas

Has it really been a week since I posted?  It's not because I've not thought about it.  It's finding that spare time that as we all know tends to be a bit elusive this time of year.  However, despite the pressure of the race with Christmas, I'm closing in on it. Or maybe Christmas is closing in on me, I'm not quite which it is. What I've not done is any baking whatsoever.  I'm hoping I can at least get it started this weekend before company arrives on Sunday afternoon.  Hopefully I'll be sending out the last of the packages on Monday.
The dogs have no idea what the fuss is all about. Although they are curious about the tree that took up residence in our garage on Friday. We've never had a "live" tree with several of them before, so we'll see how they do. We'll also see how our foster kitten "Flurry" does with the appearance of what will no doubt seem to him as a fun playground.
-Foster Kitten, Flurry -- Who has made himself at home~
Away from all the Christmas rush, there's been work, and a discussion with the rescue about Bella.  My contact on the Board of Directors called me, and we discussed their decision about Bella.  We all agree that she has "special needs" and will require a certain type of home.  Given this, they (still) feel that an attempt at finding her a forever home should be made.  It's a decision that I understand, respect, and I support.  So, after the holidays, I'll do a write up for Bella for the rescue's website, and a search will begin.
Until then, it's full speed ahead with the holidays!  Earlier in the week we had warm weather and soaking rain.
Today began with cold blustery wind and temperatures below freezing, that's supposed to hang on through the weekend.  So, keeping moving is the best way to keep warm!

  1. At least you will have the beautiful Bella there for Christmas. Sigh ...
Flurry and the tree - should be interesting.
Poor wet Todd, he looks so much happier dry. (Like the Christmas scarf!)
Happy Christmas to your family, one and all!

  2. It is such a busy time. I hope you get to enjoy it.

  3. A live tree, I can see Flurry having great fun there. And Bella, well maybe everyone else will find her needs too much for them to manage.Meantime enjoy her days with you, she has, as they all do, heaps of TLC. Baking, mine might get done today. A very easy fruit cake, no need to store to mature.

  4. We always love having a real tree here, luckily William doesn't look upon it as an inside toilet (she says with fingers crossed).

    Have a great Christmas :-)

  5. I don't have a tree up just because of the critters, so I wish you luck!
I will think good thoughts that the perfect home is out there for Bella, and if not, that she stays with you. xo
Flurry reminds me of my Ghost when he was little. How adorable!
and Todd! He did get drenched but looks so handsome with his in his scarf.
    Merry Christmas!

  6. We do put pressure on ourselves for Christmas...just crazy. Love Todd's muddy scottie.

  7. Hello, I have some baking to do this week too. I am sure the kitty will love the tree. I do hope Bella finds a loving home. Tood is cute with his scarf. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

  8. Flurry is a pretty kitty! Todd is perfect. I hope you got your baking done. Enjoy the moments, each one!

  9. Our son's cats consider the Christmas Tree their own climbing gym. But they do climb the center and do not venture out on the limbs. Good luck

  10. HI Kim... Are you feeling that your going as fast as you can!!!? Trying to squeeze everything into your weekdays,,, seems impossible to us,,, Because you do so much!
We have never had a problem with cats and xmas trees. They kind of feel afraid ,, and stay away. The biggest problem is making sure no little doggy eats the light bulbs!
Gosh,,, we feel what your saying about Bella, Yes, she needs a special home.. I know that decision weighs heavy on your heart.,
Little Tod,, ohhh we was soaking wet!

  11. Todd could always find a home here in Arizona.

  12. I am sure you will get through everything in good time. Do hope you manage to find a great furever home for Bella. She is so beautiful.
My heart melted when I saw that gorgeous white kitten I do love dogs but am really a cat person at heart.
All the best to you and yours for a wonderfully happy festive season.

  13. Flurry will show up beautifully inside that beautiful green of your tree . . .
A red bow around her neck and you'll have a perfect pose.
    Camera ready?

  14. Hi Kim, love the dove sleeping picture, so sweet. I keep putting thins off thinking there is next week, well time is running out, gotta get my rear in gear.... Love the fur baby's, Hugs Francine.

  16. your rascal, todd! :) sweet bella... love your new foster flurry!

  17. Merry Christmas, Kim. Wishing you all a joyful holiday! Enjoy the baking... I love hot out of the oven samples.... must check to make sure things are just right I always say...

  18. I feel the same way you do - Christmas is a race every single year. Then, my introverted self gets overwhelmed by all the social stuff. But, it is nice to see family.

I sort of hope that Bella stays with you but, if not, I hope an awesome family adopts her and loves her.

Todd is quite a character! Great photos!

  19. oh dear heart...

my gift for you this christmas would be all the rest you need and energy for the tasks!
    bless you child! XOXOXO♥

  20. Bella has such a beautiful face, who could possibly resist her? We hope that she finds a loving forever home.
