Internet Fully Restored!

When the week begins, you just never know what it will bring.  Monday was uneventful, but Tuesday clobbered us with a severe storm that knocked out our power. There is nothing like a power outage to let you know how unprepared you are for one.
Of course, the dogs didn't care about any of that. But it was easy to tell they were a bit confused about the change in routine that evening. and they weren't crazy about flashlights (and my camera) flashing in their faces.
The power came back on in the early hours of Wednesday morning.  However we have been without a stable, reliable or fast internet connection until today.  I've missed not getting a "full dose of internet" but we're just grateful that was all we lost.  Some have sadly not been as fortunate.
With my eyes off the computer screen, on Thursday my eyes caught this little one wandering around our yard.  Smaller than a can of soda, I worried that he was too young to be adventuring on his own.  I called a wildlife rehab center and they told me that indeed he was. They told me to catch him (I have a net) and bring him into them if I see him again.  Fortunately I haven't, and I'm hopeful that he had just wandered a little too far away from his family and they've moved on.
This weekends highlight has been meeting good friends at a nearby winery for a picnic and wine tasting.  It was an enjoyable and relaxing afternoon,
It was just what we needed, and I so hope we are back on track for the coming week!
~Bella~
With our internet problems, I'm sorry I've not been able to drop by your blogs -- I look forward to catching up on your news!
~Our foster cat, Mo is *still* with us~

  1. We saw some of the massive flooding, and then news of lives lost in raging streams and homes washed away so fast. Hope your power stays on and all is well at your home.

  4. Hello, those bad storms and a tornado rolled thru Maryland too. I heard there was a lot of flooding in Virginia. I am glad your power and internet came back on and you had no real damage. The baby skunk is adorable, I hope it is ok. I always love the photos of the sweet dogs and your kitty MO. Happy Sunday, enjoy your new week ahead!

  5. Glad it was only really internet you lost in the storm (although not having it can be frustrating). Hope you have a quiet week.

  6. You should have had some more wine and then you wouldn't have had to worry about things.

  7. We forget how dark 'dark' is until the power is out, don't we? I saw that devastation on the news, so glad to hear that you weren't affected in a major way.
We really miss our modern conveniences when we don't have them. I'd say we were spoiled. Todd looks a bit bumfuzzled. J n J won't go outside if the lights are out, their back teeth could be floating. "Mom, we can't see!"
Here's to a great (uneventful) week ahead, Kim.

  8. I feel for you Kim, we had a cut in power here during the week which then surged when it came back on. We have a surge protector that worked on my pc but not hubbys (needless to say husb. was not happy), lol. I'm glad, apart from your internet problem that all is now restored and life is rolling along peacefully :)

  9. I would have told the rehab center to come catch it themselves! Even little ones can spray, can't they?
Very glad to hear you only lost power for a day, and internet for a few.
Glad you are all safe. Have a blessed week, Kim.

  10. Years ago Mom says they lamented no lights, then no TV, now it is all about the Internet:) We would be lost here without it. Hope there are no more storms like that.

    Great shot of Mo.

  11. No electricity! Hope you were able to make a coffee somehow! We're just having rain....just enough to keep the mud sloppy and annoy the dogs. Love the little skunk, we watched a family of skunks who lived under the porch across S King Street on their evening foray into the neighbourhood. Unfortunately, I think a few didn't survive city living.

  14. I sure hope your little friend and his family have moved far away from your home. We sure wouldn't want anyone "meeting" them while wandering around your property.
