Normal Programming to Resume

Its been nearly a week since George left. I’ve been so touched by the number of people who sent e-mails, and here on my blog and on Facebook have stopped their busy lives to share the grief I've felt.  I am reminded of how common we all are – even the most stoic among us knows the feeling when a dog, or a cat, horse or bird is lost.  In this alone, I have found healing. Thank-you for that.

We'll be back to "regular programming" this weekend and I'll post an update on Max who had knee surgery today.  Thank-you again for your friendship and for stopping by! It really does mean so much!

  3. Sad and sorry . . . I am just now learning about Georges' passing . . .
A gentle soul he was . . . I just now went back to your previous post. Wonderful pictures . . . Loved the video too. I think FOOD was his "happy moment" each day . . . and he gave his gentle self a rest and expressed his passion for . . . "some eats!" I love following you!

  4. Through your words and images, we all came to love George right along with you. Some dogs come in and instantly fill a void that we didn't know we had. Sounds like George was one of those for you. I am very sorry that he is gone. Love to you and the pack.

  5. how could we ever possibly explain how they touch us?
to think there are people who never allow themselves the special love of an animal.
i've heard people make the statement meaning it as an insult... "he's an animal!" and i just cringe.
would that we humans could have the loyalty and courage and uncomplaining hearts of animals. especially dogs. they ask so little and give so much.
to be a virtual member of your pack means the world to me. love you dear bean. ♥

  6. I'm sure that the remaining animals are over it. It's something you have to deal with when you rescue seniors. On behalf of George, thank you.
