Stick a Fork in Me....I'm Done!

~Foster Kitty, Mo~
Well, I'm not really done done, but as done as I'm going to get for now.  I somehow ran out of holiday cards, and time, and Christmas Eve as we all know is practically here.  And I have yet to get all my packages mailed, but my new goal is to get that done in the coming week.  Maybe.  Usually I am more than ready for it by the time Christmas gets here.  Usually I’ve prepared menus, done some baking, completed all the shopping, and even watched a Christmas movie or two.  Usually.  But not this year.

My lack of preparedness doesn’t change that I have been looking forward to all things Christmas this month. But life has happened and it didn't stop it all from coming.
We are currently doing some tests with Bo, and waiting for the result of yet another one that he had on Thursday.  When he gets the "clear" from both the rescue and the vet, and with their approval, we've decided to adopt Bo. From the moment I was told about Bo and met him I felt like he was supposed to be with us. That feeling doesn't happen all that often, but when it does, you really shouldn't ignore it.
Taken to the vet this afternoon was the lovely "Eevah" and Max who were both given the "all clear" and are scheduled for their surgeries in early January.
~Eevah and Max worn out from the vet visit~
The day ended sitting in a long line of traffic at the airport.  We have company for the holidays.
I am quite sure that my brother is totally okay if Christmas is a little less than Pinterest-perfect. And I know for sure Todd is too.  He's got an early Christmas present to play with. A brand new red ball.

  1. Hang in there and make the most of it. You have your priorities straight and have made it Christmas every single day for all of your charges. Breath and enjoy. So glad you are going to adopt Bo. May 2017 bring you good health and great happiness (all of you).

  2. Does anyone ever really have a Pinterest perfect Christmas? No one we know, anyway. Just go with the flow and enjoy your brother's visit and the dogs, of course.

    Happy Christmas.

We're expecting a new baby in the Virginia family January 3rd. His name is Bo.

  3. Your priorities are in the right place, Kim.
Merry Christmas to you all. I hope you have a Blessed weekend and a Blessed New Year!

  4. Joy is a new red ball!

Hope you enjoy your Christmas- and congrats on Bo!

  5. What a wonderful Christmas gift for BO ! So glad you've decided to adopt him. Pleased to hear, too, that Max and Evah have been given the all clear for surgery. The photo of them in the car raised a smile, they do look exhausted, but so contented.
A very Happy Christmas to you all at Golden Pines, Kim - be they furry or human, and all you could wish for in 2017.

  6. Hello, congrats to Bo, I am so happy your are adopting him! Good news for Evah and Max, I wish them well on their surgeries. Love all the dogs and photos. Wishing everyone there a very Merry Christmas! Happy weekend!

  23. Merry Christmas!!!
I am SO SO HAPPY to read that Bo has found his forever home with you.
You took care of the important stuff!
    Everything else is just extra
and I totally get how you just run out of time.
I hope you have a quiet and fun Christmas at home with your family and fur-kids!

  24. I love reading about Bo - and your wonderful decision that he should be with you! No worries - I'm sure that you're having more of a Christmas than us. We both came down with the flu a few days ago, and we had to cancel everything. We haven't been this sick in a long time.

But it's nice to sit by the fire quietly (except for the coughing). No need for a Pinterest-quality picture! Just lots of love and happiness is needed!

    Merry Christmas!

  25. Hope Bo is yours . . .
I also hope your Christmas was wonderful . . .
Behind I am, but I took some time off and sat back and enjoyed.
    Merry Christmas on Monday . . .

  26. DItto to Cindi's post. You, indeed, always take care of the important things. I am sure Bo will be yours. It sounds as though he had your heart upon arrival!
I know you are enjoying your visiting family and of course, Carl and all of the pups. That is what feeds your soul. So, you know you are doing everything right.
    Take good care,
    Gus' Mom

  27. Dulles in Christmas week. Delightful. Take comfort in the fact it could have been worse - it might have been National ( or whatever they call it these days ).

  28. Bo sounds like a real sweet heart! I am so happy to hear you will adopt him!!
    Love all the pictures Kim

  29. Got the Christmas presents all mixed up. Forgot the vases from the village pottery fayre. Found one and posted it off. A kind of momento of a fellow who was with you for 16 days and who jogged my memory. Hope it arrived in one piece.
