The First Snow Fall and Snow Day

Up early this morning as the first snow of the season began to fall.
We ended up with about 4-5 inches that wasn't pretty snow at all. It was mixed with sleet and rain and made a mess of everything. An appointment that I had cancelled, so I was able to be home all day.

The dogs liked being outside and taking in the fresh smells that only the first snow can bring.
Well, most of the dogs did. Max doesn't like to get his curls wet.

Thank you all for the good thoughts and vibes for Bailey. Internist Vet thinks that Bailey might have mega-esophagus.
~Checking Bailey's Heart~
When all the test results are returned, we'll know for sure and be able to make a plan going forward for her. We changed up a couple of Bailey's medications, and she's had a good week.
~Bailey, happy to be on her way home!~
So with snow today and a good week for Bailey, this Thursday couldn't be any better.
But just to see if it could be, I baked some chocolate chip cookies.  And I was right, it did make it just a little better.
I hope you had a good Thursday too!

  1. Hehe. Home made cookies always make things better.
Todd looks especially happy with the snow!
    God bless. :)

  2. I'm so happy you had the day off! And that things are looking more hopeful for Bailey.

I do think that picture of the snow is beautiful, and peaceful.

  3. Hello, the dogs all look adorable. Glad they had a good week. We had the same snow here too, 4-6 of the snow with freezing rain and sleet mixing in later. The chocolate chips cookies look delicious. Happy Friday, enjoy your day and weekend!

  4. you're just the best! do you know that? you are.
and I can smell those cookies from here.
our snow always comes like that here too. makes me remember the places I used to live where it was light and fluffy and just SNOW! here we usually have an hour or two of an ice layer from hard sleet first.
I love all the pictures! and Bailey's going~home smile. get some rest on your snow day dear heart! xo

  5. Just don't overdo eating the cookies.

  6. We had snow a few days ago, but it is gone now. Only a couple of inches. We would love to run with Todd in your snow.

We hope Bailey will respond well to the new plan.

Those cookies sure do look good.

Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  7. Oh yes, chocolate chip cookies cure what ails. :-) Still praying for Bailey and all. Love, Andrea xoxo

  8. Glad you were able to stay home in the sleet. We are having our first snow day today. Stay warm.

  9. We woke up to about 10" of heavy, wet snow today. Even for us up here in western NY state it is an unusual amount of snow for this time of year. The pups had a great time playing in it and chasing snow balls.

  10. Hope the snow is just ONE early one, for this year and you aren't covered until spring.

  11. That snowstorm yesterday was not what was predicted and resulted in a very bad day for those who had to get home from work, school and wherever. You were lucky you stayed home. I love to see dogs enjoying the snow. Even many of the older pups seem to have fun.

  12. We might get some snow tonight. Hope Bailey continues to have good weeks

  13. Although it was not a pretty snow day at least you got to spend the day with your lovely fur babies xxx

  14. Love the photos of the clan out in the snow! What fun it must be to have so many to watch playing in the snow.

  15. So glad to hear that Bailey had a good week. Hope this means she is rid of her cough. We will keep all of you in our prayers.

Sleet and ice are no fun. :(

Can you send some cookies?? lol

  16. Happy Snowy Thanksgiving . . .
    Happy Bailey had a good week . . ,
Nothing better than a chocolate chip cookie . . .
Except Pumpkin Pie, with homemade whipped cream!
    Oh Happy Day!

  17. My fingers are crossed for Bailey. I'm so glad that you had an easy day at home. Those cookies look good!

  18. Mmmmm those cookies look delicious! Hope Bailey gets straightened out soon.

  19. Mmm, there is nothing like the smell of fresh snow. I find it hilarious that so many places got some as I live in a ski town in the West and we haven't had any to speak of. (It's plenty cold enough to make the stuff, anyway, so we can open some skiing on time. Meanwhile, Mother Nature is supposed to grant us some of the real stuff in a few more days.) Please feel free to send any snow you don't want my way! I love snow. It's magic.

  20. Great news for Bailey and good that you survived the snow .

  21. Snow, biscuits, and maybe some better news, Bailey, you are a real beauty.

  22. Positive thoughts over the hills for Bailey. And yes, baking chocolate chip cookies does indeed make everything better, even if only for the smell. So glad the snow passed us by.

  23. Hello and thanks for visiting me at my doggie blog. We always like to make new friends! It seems we're all getting an early winter. I love the snow even if my ghostwriter doesn't. See you soon! Chester L. W. Spaniel editor and chief of The Daily Bone.

  24. Hello Kim, looks pretty the snow, we have some the pictures of the dogs, oh how I love them so....Wishing you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving,Hugs Francine❤️

  25. I do not even know the way I stopped up right here, but I thought this publish was good.
I don't realize who you might be but certainly you're going
to a well-known blogger if you are not already. Cheers!
