An Award & A Picture of Me

Very shortly I will post an update on Maguire. But I thought I would lighten things up by posting an award that I've received from Amy at At Home With Amy, and Randy at Chicken Boys I enjoy both of these blogs and for those of you who aren't acquainted with them, I hope you'll stop by their blogs for a visit.

For the award I'm supposed to post 10 things about me, and 5 things I don't like and pass it onto 10 bloggers...So here goes...

Ten things about me...

1. I am six feet tall (that was an easy one!!)

2. From the time I was a young girl, I have always loved to make people laugh.

3. I lived in Anchorage Alaska for 10 years when my husband was in the army and we stayed after he got out.

4. I don't like to go barefoot, not even inside. I almost always have socks on. The only time I ever take them off is when it's really, really hot!

5. I can’t swim and am afraid of deep water. However, I taught swimming through the Red Cross for 2 summers in college.

6. Within my family I'm known as "The Informant" because I have a hard time keeping a secret, and because I used to tell on my siblings when we were growing up.

7. Dogs were not the animal I loved first. Cats were my favorites growing up.

8. I am terrible at being organized, but I like things to be that way.

9. I have never broken a bone. (Knock on wood!)

10. I have a really difficult time remembering names and people--I'm hoping it's an age thing (I'm 48)

And now, five things I don't like...

1. People coming by without calling first.

2. Having my picture taken (But I've included one at the bottom of this post so you can put a face to all of this).

3. Not being able to find things. Isn't that frustrating??

4. Being late--even though I'm so good at it!

5. I don't like most seafood...

I'm supposed to give this award to 10 bloggers. But because some of us are traveling in the same blogging circle, you have either been, or already are recipients of this award. However, I think there are a couple that are not, so I've chosen 3 blogs that you may not know about and I'd like to pass this award onto...I hope you'll take a moment to stop by their blogs too.

Sharon: Life with Jack n Jill

Lori: Woodbury World

Mimi: Dandelion Wishes

Oh, finally here's the picture of lil' ole me that I took today...

  1. I think you are a lovely person that should have her picture taken regularly. :-) Nice to get to know you a little better.

  2. Khongrats!

Thanks fur sharing those furry interesting fakhts!

We are glad woo khame ovFUR from The Dark Side ;-)

  3. Oh.... don't say that you've never broken a bone ~ you'll regret it! I said that for years and at the age of 48 I broke my wrist then within a year broke a leg!!!!! Hope that doesn't happen to you. (PS: I don't like most seafood either hahaha)

  4. Loved learning more about you and love having a face to the name. Congrats on the award!

  5. Kim,
    Congratulations on the award.
I loved all the shared info.
I had no idea that you are six feet tall?
Thats why I love these awards.
    Keep us updated on Maguire

  6. You're the same age as me but look years younger...not fair! LOL. You don't look a burger & fries girl either because you're so slim. I really love your home in your header photo, it looks so ideal. xxx

  7. i don't like people stopping by without calling either!! :)
loved learning about you, you look like i imagined actually, i didn't think you were that tall though! wow, i always wanted to be taller..(i'm 5'9)
a beautiful women, with a house full of beautiful dogs!
i love the shirt, and look forward to an update on the old guy....

  8. Totally agree on the people coming without calling first thing!
You are a beautiful lady! Thank you for sharing some stuff about you here with us. I can't wait to read Maquires update. He has been on my thoughts since the last post.

  9. Kim,
We have a lot in common,
and it is good to be able to put a face with all the info...
Hoping for a good report on Maguire.
Hugs and belly rubs to all the pups,

  10. The Informant - that is so funny :) It is great to see who you are and you look just as nice as we would expect! Couldn't agree more about unannounced visitors...

  11. Thank you for the award, Kim! We had a storm this afternoon, so no net. Six feet tall, ah, I was wondering how you picked up Maguire to take him outside - I am maybe 5'2" or so and I believe I would be dragging something. You are much too pretty and healthy looking to be 48, it must be some kind of mistake. :) Waiting for the update on Maguire, I have been wondering.....

  12. It's always so fun learning things about blogger friends! I agree with the 'calling first before coming over' ~ I don't enjoy the 'pop-ins' either! :)

Hope you have a lovely evening!
    xo Catherine

  13. HA! I'm taller than you are....BOL

I share your dislike of the water (if that's what you are saying).

Nice to put a face with the name.

I promise I'll never stop by unannounced.

Will look for that update about Maquire. Always thinking about our senior Goldens that reach that snow storm in the winter of their lives.
