A Happiness Makeover

For about the last week I have been experiencing a bit of "blog-writers-block." It hasn't come just from not knowing what to say on my own blog, but yours too. I think that part of it just comes from the long hours that Carl is gone and I'm left to "do it all." At the end of my own work day, I'm worn out from it all.

However, after work today I will be on vacation and will begin what I've dubbed my "happiness-makeover!" What am I going to be doing? Well, I'm going to start by catching up on my my blog visits, (I've really missed reading what you all are up to!) have lunch with friends, goof off, and then goof off some more; all things that make me happy!

As you may guess, I'm really looking forward to it --Just like the dogs look forward to their dinner! Isn't this picture of EVERYONE a 'crack-up?' Good thing I have a big and wide kitchen!

See you all very soon!! Enjoy your Wednesday!!

  9. Hope you enjoy your happiness makeover! I have one coming up soon (vacation that is!). Absolutely love all the doggies in the kitchen picture. This in fact makes me feel pretty good, since I have eight cats in mine! Also two big dogs in the evenings. If you can handle that bunch surely I can handle the kitties. ha.

  11. You know that is just what I need too. A happiness makeover. What with my kids, grandkids and husband I don't have much me time. After this week I am going to announce to all that I will not be available for anyone but me. I wonder how long that will last. Thanks for the idea.

  12. Hey Kim! I've really enjoyed reading your blog and hearing about your wonderful family full of VERY lucky dogs! It's fun to see pictures and hear about your adventures. Thanks for the kind note on my post about my camera. It brightened my day! Take care and keep writing!

  17. You know just what I need to make my day: a group picture of all of your Golden faces. I count 9 in the picture. That is all Goldens present and accounted for (I think). Where's Waldo, er I mean Charlie? Those are some very lucky fur kids.

Take some time for yourself and enjoy vacation time. We did that last week. It was very invigorating.

  18. That is the most wonderful of pictures. All of those eager, smiling faces! You are making me more and more aware of what a lovely breed they are.

I'm a lot newer to the blogging thing than you are, and there are days when I am just plain stuck. I often wonder how often people will enjoy more pictures of newly identified "weeds" and turkey ladies. Even more, like you said, I sometimes struggle with what to say in comments (well not here, today. I appear to be quite windy). I want people to know that there are people reading their blogs, and I want to say something that means that I actually took the time to appreciate the blog, but it can be hard.

Here's hoping that your break from work will give you the refreshment, mental and physical, that you need.

  19. My granddaughter would be in Dog Heaven here. And what beauties they are!!! I love Golden's! My son just lost Kelly, his Golden Retriever friend of 11 years and now he has Ginger who is a Golden as well and will be turning one soon. She's the pup from you know where! She's adorable though in spite of her aunery-ness. Thanks for sharing this pic of EVERYONE> LOVE IT!

  20. Your dogs always look so HAPPY! Wouldn't it be nice if we were as easy to please as they are?

Enjoy your 'vacation'. I've been pretty lax on the blogging scene myself but am trying to get back into some kind of a routine.

    You've been missed!

  21. Wow, great picture!

I understand about writers block - you can tell it's the end of the summer - I feed off people responding to my blog and it seems everyone is out getting in their last summer fun! It's hard to be creative when it seems no one is noticing!!

    Chin up, move forward!!

  22. Holy Golden furs, Kim! That's a lot of mouths to feed! I know you have many dogs, but a photo, as they say, is worth a 1000 words! Great shot!

  25. I just love that photo - I don't think I've ever seen all your furry ones in one place at the same time!

I hope you have a restful and recuperative break - and don't worry about the blog-block. Sometimes I think what starts as a genuine desire to reach out and share takes on a tinge of obligation that doesn't do anyone any good. So blog when you feel like it, and when you don't - for whatever reason - go with the flow and know that sometime soon it will feel like the right time to connect again.

  27. If too many cooks in the kitchen spoil the meal, do too many goldens in the kitchen eat the meal?

We have always felt that the kitchen is where the action is!

  28. Hi Kim,
Remember you ARE human! We can only do so much and then we take a break, reevaluate and do things a little different maybe.
All your dogs remind me of Sophie's doggie day care.....love it! And welcome back.

  29. Ah, yes, blogger's blog. :) I've been suffering from it a bit myself lately. The weather has been so lovely here, I don't want to be on the computer anyway.

Hope you enjoy your time off!

  33. Dear Kim
As the saying goes, there is a time for everything, and now it will be your time to regroup, to relax and breathe, and to renew yourself.
Its time to go to bed so I can get up bright and early,, and I have been waiting for my dial up computer to let me leave you a comment.
I was just looking at your photos of the pups, and it will be the last one for me tonight,,, and when I close my eyes, I want to remember what I see in this photo of all these doggys in the kitchen waiting for dinner, and all these doggys getting love.. yes that is what i want to remember when i close my eyes.... enjoy your time ,, time for yourself
    love

It's a beautiful day here though the trees very wet & dripping from all the rain. Dillon gets wet whatever the weather as he will go in the sea !

  37. Thank you so much for your nice comment on my blog. I haven't been around much myself since my car accident. The aftermath is a whole job all by itself!! There are urban coyotes on Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles and other areas of town as well. I love, love your pack of Goldens! They are some blessed doggies. Enjoy your happiness makeover -- it sounds like a great plan!--Inger
