Old Sam

"Old Sam" who you all know is the 15 year old we just took in, came to us on August 20th. This morning when I bent over to talk to him and say good morning he looked at me and wagged his tail for the first time--It only took 24 days! A good start to the week! I hope you have a good one too!!

  26. Kim, that is just WONDERFUL news! I hope Doris is doing a little better too. Sam reminds me of my old dog, Snoopy, who (we think) is at least 13 or 14 years old. Best guy in the world, too. Of course I guess I am a little partial. Look forward to hearing more good stories about Sam.

  36. Oh Kim, How wonderful!!
I am so glad. I know how you feel about this.
when Buddy came to live with us,he used to be very subdued and obedient. Being a very affectionate and happy lab he couldn't help being exuberant and playful but then he would go back to what looked like brooding. He came from a loving home, so it must have been harder for him to adjust and forget his family of four years.

But one morning, he just came up to me and licked my face and then wagged hard as if to say 'I have decided to adopt you'
i was still in bed then.
He hasn't gone back to brooding ever since and is no longer as obedient!!
we are so thankful for him. Ginger too follows him everywhere and vice-versa.
Lots of love to you and your goldens and of course THE terrier and THE cat!
