The Road to a Friends House

Yesterday I packed up an entire Thanksgiving dinner and took it to our good friend Sidney in Lancaster Pennsylvania.  Other than work later this evening, she had no plans for the holiday.  I just think that Thanksgiving is meant to be shared with someone.  I wasn't going to tell Sid I was coming, but decided that I would tell her as I was getting ready to leave. It was good to see her, and we enjoyed our meal together.
I gave Sid the leftovers and I drove the 2+ hours back home.  The road to a friends home is never long...It was a nice day.
This evening we're having dinner with some friends we've known for about 10 years.  They are always so kind and include us in one of their holiday celebrations.

The picture below is of Rudi doing what she has done nearly every day for the 7 years we've had her; enjoying the cats food.
Whatever you are doing, if you celebrate Thanksgiving or not,
hope you're enjoying your day too!!

  2. Oh, I love Rudy! Such a beauty and character!

I'm glad you surprised your friend with a nice meal and great companionship. I'm sorry you weren't able to snap the photos of the trees on the way, but better safe than sorry! :)

  6. I hope that, right now, you are enjoying your friends and your Thanksgiving feast. I'm sitting at the computer, waiting impatiently until the crock pot pork roast is done (don't like turkey.) Here is to plenty to be thankful for, not only today, but every day.

PS How does Rudi stay so slim eating all of that high calorie cat food?

  8. Oh Rudi! Hope that stuff is yummy :)
What a perfect time to spend with friends! Our usual family Thanksgiving fell apart this year, so we have a nice dinner out lined up and hopefully a short trip to the snow...we'll see :)

    Hugs and snaggle-tooth kisses,

  9. Isn't it funny how 'stolen food' seems to taste better then their own. I bet if you put it in her bowl she wouldn't eat it!! Pleased to hear that you have had a lovely day Kim. Best wishes. Sue x x

  16. Anyone who has you as a friend Kim is very blessed!
Rudi is a hoot, and be thankful the canned food is all he goes after! I have had a few dogs who seemed to think the litter box was their personal buffet...:(
    Have a wonderful Friday!!

  20. What a pill that Rudi is. And that is a perfect example of why we have all "low riders". Glad you had a good Thanksgiving.

  21. Oh, that Rudi! Bad girl! I love how you just concede and let her have it... ;-)

I didn't take any food to anyone for Thanksgiving but I did "pay-it-forward" at the drive up window at Wendy's! I like to do that every now and then, when I have a little cash It makes me feel especially good to do it knowing how broke I always am!

My thoughts and prayers will be with you and Hamlet tomorrow morning...
