I wish I could say that I am going some place to cool off, but unfortunately I'm not. Today I'm driving to Kentucky and right through the heat wave.
Accompanying me on this trip will be Charlie, of course. I am on the fence about taking Rudi. She didn't eat yesterday and I worry that something may happen on the way. But she seems to feel 'okay' and there's a part of me that thinks this trip would be a good one for both of us to share because it'll be our last one. Time together, even just in the car is always good.
I was going to take Todd with me too. But I've decided to leave him at home. I'm really going to miss him. I'll be back at the start of the week, and will look forward to catching up on your news when I return.
Have a safe and fun trip, Kim... and say hello to Charlie for me!
ReplyDeleteI always laugh when I see a photo of Todd; he looks like such a bundle of energy! Enjoy your trip and I hope you can stay cool. Sophie is not enjoying this heat; I bought her a little swimming pool, but so far she wants nothing to do with it.
ReplyDeleteI don't know enough about dogs to advise you on whether or not to take Rudi, but, you will do the right thing, whatever that is. Have a great trip, in spite of the heat.
ReplyDeleteHave a safe fun trip!!! Stay cool!
ReplyDeleteI sure the dogs will love not sharing you with anyone else for a change, praying for travel mercies for you & your dogs, phyllis

ReplyDeleteHave a safe trip - hope it's not too hot!! Todd is sooo cute - he looks like a bundle of joy!! I printed off the photo of him climbing out of his cage and everyone at work had a good chuckle!! He should be named "Houdini" :o)

Be safe, drive carefully and have your self a good time.
ReplyDeleteIt'll probably be good for Charlie to have some time with you without Todd around. It should reassure him that he's not forgotten and gets a few special perks.
ReplyDeleteBe safe!!
ReplyDeleteHave a safe and enjoyable trip Kim!!

I keep hearing about this U.S. heatwave. I sympathise with you all although it is currently only 9 degrees celcius in Eaglemont, Victoria. Keep cool on your trip.
ReplyDeletelove Kaye xoxo
Save Travels!!! And I can hardly wait to hear who went and who stayed home!
ReplyDeleteFour Things I know:
1. Sometimes it's fun to go.
2. Sometimes it's a relief to stay home.
3. Time together, doing no matter what, is time together.
4. The Mom all ways makes the right decision... because she's the Mom!
Have fun. Can't wait to hear!
with love from the Bleu
It's good for Todd to miss you Kim.....it will make for a stronger bond. And of course all the kisses upon your return! lol
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great trip. Can't wait to hear all about it.
ReplyDeleteAROOOOF!
Boondocks and The Love Shack Pack
With all those faces to steal your heart every time you leave Golden Pines in a vehicle ....I don't know how you do it. I'd want to take them all. Such precious time with Rudi, but I think you made the right decision.
ReplyDeleteTod is winning me over. What a cute boy, but I see the devil in him....as in all puppies....BOL

ReplyDeleteHi Kim - one question.......does anyone ever mistake Todd for a toy. My goodness he's cute!
ReplyDeleteElaine
Hi Kim,
ReplyDeleteIt has been such a long time since I visited and I see that I have missed so much. Life is returning to somewhat normal. Although I still really miss my Dad so many happy blessings have been coming my way I can't help but to be thankful and happy. I see that your new family member, Todd is a ball of energy. And oh my goodness is he precious. If you get a chance pop on over to my blog to meet my new family member---I just could not help myself.
I hope you had a wonderful safe trip and enjoyed the time with your sweet Rudi. I am glad I stopped by to catch up--I have missed reading your blog. I am back now and can't wait to read all that you have to share.
xoxo
Mimi
I'm glad you made it home safe and sound Kim! I am thinking your pups were very glad to see you home!! :)
