Our Girl Reggie

Its been a busy few days.  Despite not feeling well, we've had company come for dinner one evening and things to get caught up on.  One thing that I had to do was take Reggie to the vet.  She's also not been feeling well the last few days.  Her activity has decreased as has her appetite; which I've learned is unusual for her.  She has been limping and I'm hoping that it's just because her shoulder is bothering her.  At one time in her life it was broken and repaired with about a 7 inch plate, screws and a wire pin.  I've found that we have to not allow Reggie to pull on the lead or her shoulder starts to bother her and she can't put any weight on her leg.  We've put her on pain medications and stopped taking her for walks.  Today is the first day she's not limping. I'm really hoping that's what it is and she'll perk up.  It goes without saying that since we first met in June, I've gotten pretty attached this sweet girl named Reggie.

  12. Oh, feel better Reggie. It's no fun getting old. Our Morgan has been favoring one leg and licking at her foot. I keep checking it and until yesterday I didn't find anything, but now I think I feel a lump on one of her toes. At Morgan's age I don't want to put her thru more surgery so we'll have to see what other measures we can take.

  15. Hope Reggie continues to improve. I am sure she will with the tlc she now gets. Hard to believe she was so neglected and now has a Momma that makes sure all of her needs are met so well. That makes us all feel a little better.
Hope the humans are feeling better too!!!

  27. Hi Kim, Happy Labor Day; thank you for your labor of love towards all your pups-past and present. Glad Reggie is walking a bit better.
The weirdist thing just happened-our Reggie was sitting near our slider and started barking, he hasn't done that in about nine months or so. We had a hot-air balloon flying by and he saw it. He started acting like a pup, running around the yard barking at it. So he is doing good today. Hope your Reggie continues to spring back to normal.
    hugs today, Noreen & Reggie

  50. I hope you will both start to feel better soon. Cody is on pain killers too, he suffers arthritis and some days are worse then others, depending on weather I guess and how much he has been active. I hate to see pets suffer since they are not able to tell us about it. So wonderful that you are that attuned to her aches and pains.

I have been a terrible blogging friend of late, not coming around as often as I would like to, and my posts are few and far between.
For some reason I am just dragging emotionally. I need to get into a feeling of Halloween and let the upcoming season cheer me. big hugs to you and Reggie
