The First Snow

Old Man Winter made an early arrival in Virginia.  Even though we still have leaves on half the trees  snow is coming down.  Because its been so warm, it's only sticking to the grass.  The sun is to return on Sunday and the snow will no doubt disappear.

There's just something about the first snow of the year.  And there's something about watching a puppy enjoy their first snowfall. Todd of course, loves it and has enjoyed chasing the falling snowflakes.  This morning I took this 20-ish second video of him playing in it for the first time.

We've been out several times playing in the snow and now that my feet and my hands are warmed up, we're going back outside to catch more snowflakes and pictures.
  Enjoy your day!!

  24. Hi Kim.. We got snow too but I wasn't real thrilled with it since we were 'scheduled' to go to Atlantic City this morning. Shortly after we were on our way, we turned around to come home. Not the best driving conditions. Todd looks so adorable in the snow. I love how his little legs run.

  33. So cute, they all love the snow so much, but it is very special when they get to play in their very first snow. I remember Samson, he was sooo happy. Thanks for the update you left on my blog. Yes, I know about Hamlet and you know how much I loved him, but I didn't know about Rudi. With two old dogs of my own, I admire you so much for what you do for the goldens.

  34. I went back and read about Rudi. It was too hard to find the time to read blogs at the library this summer so I missed a lot, but this was the worst. I am so sorry to hear about her. Sending hugs...

  35. very very cute! We too woke up to snow. Emerson went full speed ahead into it and Oliver looked downright upset that I'd have the nerve to think he'd be going to the bathroom with his toes in this cold white stuff. They are something, aren't they? Happy snow day! :)

  36. Oh that little Todd, he just brings a smile to my face!! just love him :)

  46. Todd is one happy pup!! Oh gosh im so jealous - I hope it will snow just a dusting atleast again this year here in Texas. Granted I would love inches and inches but that never happens :) Do you have room for me and 2 furry ones for the winter?! :)

  47. We heard about the snow on the news all the way over here in Germany, it was that big of a sensation to get the white stuff before Halloween. Loved the little video of Todd playing in his first snow. Him and Cody would have a grand time together, cuz our guy LOVES snow. We can hardly get him to come in out of it even when he is shivering from the cold after too many hours. We finally bought him a knit doggie sweater for this winter! Hope you are having a Happy Halloween! ~Debby
