Even though she's wearing a 'comfy cone of shame' she had a partner in crime that I think, somehow managed to remove all the staples in her leg. Todd wouldn't leave her wound alone, so there really is no other explanation as to how the staples came out. Despite this little set back, everything is healing nicely. However, from where her skin was shaved, its become really irritated and red from the clippers. It's really bothering her and the vet and I think that her skin will either heal, or become hot-spots. I've got medication to try and ease the discomfort I know she's having.
Today I also picked up the second printing of our Christmas cards. Long story, but suffice it to say that my 'obsessive compulsiveness' kicked in, and I had them redone. I am also finished with work for the rest of the week. I'm hoping to get some of my cards written and packages put together and mailed. I feel like I'm where I was this past Sunday when I was thinking I'd be able to relax. I'm really worn out and tired and am hoping I'll get that 'do over' and the chance to relax that I didn't get last weekend. Stay tuned!
~Something about this picture of Todd made me laugh...~ |
todd, being 'helpful', reaching sheba's sore spot for her. munchkin!
ReplyDeletehope you get a quiet couple of days!!!
That little stinker, Todd! He is a hoot. His picture made me laugh too!
ReplyDeleteKim, I do hope you MAKE time for YOU this week-end. *HUGS*
A big chewy for a little fella. Cones don't work in our house. Zoey can make a game out of anything cause she's a smarty girl. Cones end up in the backyard, destroyed, and completely useless. Stresses Mama a lot when that happens.
ReplyDeleteHot spots are certainly no fun for a dog. I feel so badly for Sheba.
ReplyDeleteOh, naughty Todd but I'm sure Sheba encouraged him to help her out! Hope she mends soon.
ReplyDeleteQuite an innocent face! How could you possibly think Todd had anything to do with the staples?
ReplyDeleteHope you do have a relaxing weekend, Kim!
Heal, Sheba, heal. Paws and fingers crossed here for no hot spots. Todd looks like a stuffed animal. So cute.
ReplyDeletePoor Sheba, she looks so sad, and Todd boy has that look on his face, which says he didn't do anything, and has no idea what you are talking about :)
ReplyDeleteHope you get some down-time !
~Jo
It's a good thing puppies are so darn cute and make us laugh so much, or they (and we) would be in trouble! I hope you have a perfectly relaxing and uneventful weekend.
ReplyDeleteOh geesh...you wonder how they get to spots on their bodies with the "cone of shame" on. Are the soft ones smaller in circumference? My plastic one seems bigger. Our Golden Annie in her later years became prone to hot spots and of course the cone had to be used. I know that awful feeling of seeing put in them but to help the healing process we don't have a choice.
ReplyDeleteHoping that Sheba heals up and leaves the staples alone. Poor girl...
Todd. What an adorable face he is making!!!
Oh boy. you definitely have your hands full with both Sheba and Todd. Todd alone is a hands full. I don't know how you do it. My poor Roscoe was sick with a stomach flu yesterday and I did not know how to make him feel better. He kept sitting on my feet and looking up at me the whole day. But night time I was exhausted. He is a lot better today, running, playing, eating and being himself.
ReplyDeleteHoep you get some rest now that you are out of work and get all your packagings done.
Hope Sheba gets better soon.
Don't forget to breathe!!
ReplyDeleteWhat makes me laugh about Todd's pic is that wild eye..looking out for any other dog that might sneak up on his bone! You are doing better than me in the Ch. card department, I didn't even send any this year, first time in 40 years for that. I am just cutting way back this year and that feels good to me. Poor Sheba, I feel for her. :D
ReplyDeleteSomething about that picture of Todd made us laugh, too. And we need a laugh at the moment.
ReplyDeletePoor Sheba. We hope she's on the mend soon.
XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
Todd, not only do you make your momma laugh- you make us laugh.
ReplyDeleteYou are quite the mischevious little boy!
Sheba- we are sending healing wishes your way,,,,, heal nice!
Kim,, were sending wishes that you get some "time for you"
we love you all
tweedles
Sheba and Todd. Are there enough hours in a day?
ReplyDeleteI love that photo of Todd and his bone, and I wonder if Todd wasn't to blame for removing Sheba's staples. In your 2nd photo Sheba has her muzzle outside the cone. With Riley we had to get a deeper cone, as with his muzzle beyond the edge of the cone meant he could still get to the itchy bits to lick and chew when we weren't watching. He now has something that is so large it resembles a satelite dish!
ReplyDeleteOh poor Sheba......i hope she wil recover soon....Todd is so so sweet !!....love ...xxx....
ReplyDeleteTodd the partner in crime or not, I still love him...and this photo says it all!
ReplyDeleteThe 'comfy cone' that Sheba is wearing is actually too small for her--It's a 'medium' size, which is more for Charlie (Wheaten). I have a big plastic one, but, it's too bulky and noisy, this one is doing the job, at least for now...
ReplyDeleteHope you find some time to relax.
ReplyDeleteTodd looks as though he is so innocent and can't understand why everyone is looking at him!!
ReplyDeleteGill
Oh yes, that is a very cute photo of Todd! And, I hope Sheba recovers soon.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Homer
Todd: "What?! Me? I never did it!"
ReplyDeleteLooks like Todd's eyes are going in two different directions in that picture. So cute and I am so glad he came to live with you.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about being worn out, I'm in the same state. I'm going to try and get my Christmas shopping finished tomorrow night so I can try and get a bit of downtime in this weekend amongst family birthday meals and an appointment.
ReplyDeleteThe holidays are such a busy time. You can always change your Christmas cards to New Year cards and take a little break. Lots of snow here this year. We did have one big meltdown but now its cold and snowing even more.
ReplyDeleteWe wish you and all your family health and happiness.
Trust me Kim, nothing like a good rest to feel better and ready to go again!
ReplyDeleteTodd is too cute, no matter what!
Hi Kim,I too love this pic of Todd-he is soooo adorable! Hopefully life will slow down a bit for you.
ReplyDeleteSending love, Noreen & Reggie
You sound drained and need to rest so put Todd, that big bone and Sheba in a romm with you and go "night night". Your sleep breathing will calm them down!..:)JP
ReplyDeleteSomething about that photo of Todd made me smile too!
ReplyDeleteI hope that Sheba feels better soon. I can see that there's no way that she took those staples out by herself. I never thought of the possibility of another dog messing with his buddy's wound.
Rest up. We all need it. This time of year is really tiring. It's the preparations that exhaust me... So rest up!
Don't worry about getting everything done! You are supposed to be enjoying this entire SEASON ~ not just one day!
ReplyDeletePoor Sheba. Isn't it funny how one minute we can be SO mad at them and the next, worried and sympathetic? I hope she heals quickly from her wounds and learned a lesson from the experience!
As for you Dear Friend ~ I think you and your husband so have a nice, "DATE NIGHT"! Pamper yourself a bit.
;-)
Here's hoping Todd sticks to chewy bones and swears off staples! The soft cone of shame, poor girl. Hope Sheba heals quickly. Paws crossed.
