The Healing Continues

The calendar may say it's early January, but for the past couple of days, it's feeling more like November or March.  Today and yesterday the dogs and I weren't planning on being outdoors long, but we got caught up in the warmth.
~Sunrise on Friday morning~
Todd however, got caught up in watching the cat, CC, walk the fence.
I'm not sure if it's brought on by the weather, but there continues to be a change in Toby.  He's showing a more mischievous and playful side.  When he is laying in the grass there is a look of peace and contentment about him too.
~Toby~
I think that like Sheba's leg, the healing is continuing.
I hope you're having an enjoyable weekend!

  5. Kim,

The picture of Todd watching the cat is adorable. Everytime I see that little guy I just want to hug him!

I did see the article about the little corgi who survived the avalanche. Such a mircle that this little guy could dig himself out and walk four miles back to the motel. Never underestimate their short little legs, I guess!

  6. Maybe Toby was worried about his friend for a long time. I am so glad he and everyone else at your place are feeling better. We have strange weather too.

  7. Kim, I said the same thing today....it is like March around here! Strange but I wish it would BE WINTER and get it over with!
The dogs are all soaking up the warmth I can see. And good for Toby to be getting back on track.

  8. Hi Kim, I love that picture of Todd watching CC! Adorable!! We had a beautiful day here as well.. enjoying this early spring. Is this the calm before the storm..? If it doesn't snow any, it will not make me sad at all.

  10. Wow, Kim! All of your photos are fantastic but I have to confess I love the one of Toby watching CC. Too precious!

  11. I am amazed at how Todd can just watch the cat. I would be all over that like slobber on bacon.

  14. I think maybe Toby heaped the responsibility on himself to watch over Bubba for all these years. Dogs sense/smell/know things about other dogs (and humans too). Toby knew about Bubba's condition for an number of years. Nurse Toby probably is enjoying a pressure free life for the first time in years. They live for the day; as it should be. I envy them sometimes.

  15. Hi Kim!
I just knew that you would be looking at the moon, and look at the beautiful photo you took!
You amaze me with your photography!
That is the cutest pic of Todd watching CC!
And Toby- so glad he is feeling like playing and feeling better.
We have cold that just kind of lingers on. Tonight the fog drifted back in-
Keep on taking care of yourself and healing with the rest of Golden Pines. We think of all of you --all the time

  16. Kim, I've been thinking of you all and it is good to see Toby being a little more engaging...they feel so deeply as well. I have a friend who's dog was hit by a car yesterday and was killed and her devastation reminded me of your loss and well, just sending good thoughts and hugs...

  17. Perhaps Toby has been carrying the burden of worrying about his brother's failing health. Now he's free to relax and feel free of care. I hope so.

  18. I'm glad everyone is feeling a little lighter. I agree with everyone who commented about Toby being so worried and now can be free of that.

Todd. Gah! He needs to come visit me out here in California and chase some ground squirrels. I never get tired of Todd photos.

    Enjoy the nice weather.

  21. what a beautiful Sunrise. And is Todd really just watching CC walk the fence or is he waiting to catch him if he should fall.

What a kind dog Todd is.

Things seem peaceful. Have a nice weekend

  22. Your post emanates such a feeling of peace. I'm so happy that both Toby's heart and Sheba's leg are healing. And, I'm glad for all of you that you have the gift of warm and beautiful days outdoors. That's truly a gift in mid-winter.

  24. Beautiful sunrise, Kim! Does Todd play 'Get the kitty'? Toby is looking really good. Sheba seems to be healing, you don't need the cone any more? It is going to be a lovely Wolf moon, we have clouds, so I can't see it. :-( I still haven't found that coin and I have no idea where to look anymore...

  25. All the pictures are beautiful and peaceful....although the one of Todd could be the calm before the storm. We love that picture.

    Enjoy your warm weather.

  27. Good to hear that the healing does happen - especially as you have inspired me to start fostering! We're going to be getting a 15 year old cat with liver problems this week - she's an absolute sweetheart and is desperate for cuddles. I know even before we get started that she is going to break my heart but I'm going to try and think of the pleasure she will get at this end of her life.

    Wish me luck!

    xx

  31. This one picture reminds me of the time my little Meeka (shih tzu) saw a cat walking on our back block wall. She took off running after it and never took her eyes off of it. The problem was that Meeka didn't remember that we had a swimming pool and she took an accidental dive. I don't think she will be chasing cats on the wall again anytime soon,
