A No Regrets Friday

Feeling like I still needed some distance from my job, I decided yesterday to take another day off from work.  At the start of the day, I watched the dogs and realized that they were feeling the same way about things that I do.  Charlie looks, just how I was feeling....
I only had one thing that I really had to do today.  Otherwise the day was one with no “to do” or “must do” lists. The only thing that Lucas had on his 'to do and must do' list was to stalk the cat.
I've pretty much done what I wanted ...
Todd did what he wanted to as well; and that was to dig a hole.
And I've not felt guilty about my choice of not doing anything.
Todd, being a Scottie, didn't feel guilty about digging the hole...
The day is coming to an end, and looking back at it, I have no regrets.  Lucas,  I know, has no regrets stalking the cat...
All of us feel relaxed and refreshed!

Whatever your weekend brings, I hope it's an enjoyable one!!

  6. As others have already said that last photo is great! It also reminds me of how pale my two Golden Retrievers are compared to the often darker American Golden Retrievers.

    Enjoy your weekend.

  19. Hi Kim
I think you needed a day to yourself, to sink your roots into the earth and just be!
Sometimes its important to re- groop and focus on what is important- giving yourself some time.
The furries are so smart- they do what is important to make them happy.
I am glad you had the day with them, and no regrets at all!
These photos are priceless! Every photo tells a story, and its self explanatory! We love the photos.

  23. I love it! Actually, I thought about giving myself a day off work today, but argued myself out of it. I went in, got to spend an hour and a half with a useless sub, had a coworker pass out in the classroom next door and took the kids from their class who were awake (it was during nap time) into my room to read quietly, at dismissal time someone pulled the fire alarm so we all had to evacuate the building, and then had to rush after school to meet my husband at the vet's office with two of the dogs! Lesson learned! The next time I get that feeling, I'm calling in sick! lol

  24. Years ago, when I was a full time worker, whenever it felt urgent, I just called it a Mental Health Day and it ALWAYS helped!

  25. What a lovely day. We should all be so proactive, or should I say pro inactive!
I also had a relaxing day with Ryker trying to motivate me into activity.

  27. sometimes we need a day of nothing, nada, a blank canvas that doesn't require paint - the best thing is, the dogs will go whichever way they need to - I just love that about them - the Golden butts on the porch picture is priceless

  38. Hi Y'all,

Hey! Lucas, is that a DEVIL CAT? I notice he's mostly black, like the Devil.

  42. Good for you for realizing you needed a day off and good for you for not feeling guilty about it! I can't tell you the amount of days of took off from work over the years and felt guilty for it and then ended up going back to work unrefreshed! Your animals clearly could sense your relaxed state of mind --- the pictures are proof that they could feel your happiness! Great post!

  43. I love the last photo - I have to take days off too just to put some space between me and what I do at work. I don't think anyone understands it, but I think it keeps me sane!

  44. Good for you to take a day off and the best part is with no regrets. I pretty much did the same thing, well I did clean the furniture and mopped. Roscoe is shedding and I keep sweeping after his hair. Can't wait for it to get better. I love that last picture of the 4 dogs with their head sticking out. Super cute.
Hope you have a great weekend

  45. I know how you feel about work. I just wish I could take a day off, but I have to much to do this week. I've had rather a lousy week and while last night was a step up, today has turned out pretty lousy too. Ugh... I'm glad your Friday went well though and I hope that your weekend is nice and restful!

The last shot was a hoot!! The dogs all wagging their tails and heads stuck through the railings was just too funny.
