~Our little hungry hatchlings~ |
But I've been behind in getting to work on time
Although it helps when there is something like this to look at...
Instead of reading license plates...
I've been behind in getting home...
And behind in spending time with the dogs. This week I heard from Sam's former family. They have been thinking about him, and have asked to see him again. You'll recall that Sam came to us from a family at the church I attend. They had him for about 5 years, and when 'the Mom' was diagnosed with cancer, because of her health and a move, they were unable to keep him, and they gave Sam to us. Its been about 4 years since they saw him, and 'the Mom' in particular would like to see him one more time. I've no doubt that they dearly loved Sam, and I know had it not been for 'the Mom's' health, they would have kept him. Of course I have agreed to the meeting which will probably be next week. I noticed this week that the swelling has returned to Sam's cheek. We've started him on antibiotics again, and I continue to hope and pray that along with the medication and the Chinese herbs they will work to reduce swelling and the size of the tumor.Whatever you call your week, I hope all is well and I look forward to a slower pace and catching up with your news! Thanks for stopping by and catching up with us at Golden Pines! (Mom or Dad Phoebe with a meal for their hungry hatchlings)

You have been busy. I hope you get to slow down and enjoy the dogs and all the beauty that surrounds you. Paws crossed for Sam, hope all the herbs and meds get to work fast.

Goose
I do pray that all goes well for Sam . Lovely photos . Sounds like you girls had a nice visit. Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteHow fun to visit with a blogger friend. Please don't feel bad about not being able to visit everyone. I have always admired you and how you manage your family, dogs, work, writing your blog and visiting us. I hope the treatments for Sam will work. He looks so sweet.
ReplyDeleteOh wow Kim..you are SO busy! and with the added concern of Sam.
ReplyDeleteTry to carve out just a few minutes for you and the pups...they will help rejuvenate you I feel certain.
Big hugs...don't worry about checking in with all that is going on..we'll all catch up later...

aw. how great to meet louise!!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe staying 'crazy busy' is a good thing? The photo of Sam makes me sad. Poor pup! He is so lucky to have been loved and then placed into such a loving home when tragedy struck his original family. I know that I have to learn to focus on all the good and not be so saddened by what the future may or may not hold. You are a good roll model for me, Kim.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get the chance to RELAX and enjoy Life at Golden Pines a bit this weekend!
;-)
Busy, busy, busy! I don't know how you find the time for everything. The hatchlings are so cute! Poor Sam, I hope the antibiotics and herbs work for him! It's nice of you to take him to see his old family, but I do find it a little odd they want to see him after 4 years.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get a chance to relax soon and that Sam feels better in time for his visit with his family!
ReplyDeleteOur best wishes to Sam and hopes for a recovery!
ReplyDeleteLucky for you to meet a fellow blogger and enjoy some flowers from her.
Take care, Kim,
Jo, Stella and Zkhat
I've been behind too Kim, so I sympathize with your busy schedule. I sure hope Sammy feels better soon, I wonder how he will react to seeing the original family next week? I don't think I would be able to do what you do Kim. You are really a special person.
ReplyDeleteHope you'll soon have more time for yourself and the goldies, and hope that Sam's previous owners enjoy their visit, fingers crossed he'll do well on the antibiotics..
ReplyDeleteHow lovely meeting with Louise, good luck with the flowers, sorry I can't help with their names :(
Here's to a little "me" time for you !
~Jo
Hope you can find some peace and quiet this weekend
ReplyDeleteWe hope that things slow down for you. We have summer vacation coming up fast so that will be our down time, I hope.
ReplyDeleteWell wishes to Sam for both his tumor and his visit. Must be so hard for his old family.
Your hatchings are adorable. Nothing like a nest full of baby birds to scream out Spring!
Hugs,
Sandy and Ryker
Love the look you got from the wooly fellow ahead of you.
ReplyDeleteWe've already had at least one batch of baby robins fledge. I love watching their parents feed the demanding little ones. It's one of my favorite spring and summer activities along with watching them splash in the bird bath.
Hi Kim, I loved seeing your baby birds too. I bet those flowers will be beautiful. Very thankful that Sam's previous mom will get to see him-sounds like maybe closure for them both. Hopefully she is doing well with the fight and he will respond with the herbs you're using. You really will need to do a post about those. Sending lots of love your way today.
ReplyDeleteNoreen & Hunter
I love checking in on YOU! As always...:)
ReplyDeleteHow sweet it is that Sam's owners still care about him after all this time.
ReplyDeleteLouise came to Skoog Farm too. Love meeting blogging buddies.
Its hard when we're so busy that adding one more thing - however important, like a food drive - is so disruptive. Hoping that you're enjoying it none the less.
ReplyDeleteHi Y'all,
ReplyDeleteStoppin' to say "hello" and see how y'all are doing.
Love the expression on that sheep.
Sounds like y'all are havin' a busy, busy week! Hope Sam responds well to his medications. Paws crossed here.
Y'all come back now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
What a cute little birdie!
ReplyDeleteBoy do I know what it's like to be behind! I hope things settle down a little for you soon. I hope Sam enjoys his visit with his old family, too!
ReplyDeleteLove this post. It is so funny to see you take pictures while driving.
ReplyDeleteI hope that Sam's visit with the previous owners goes well. I also hope and will pray for his health and your sanity.
TFS. ANA
Wonder what Sam will remember when he sees his old family again. Hopefully it will be an emotionally healing experience for human and animal.
ReplyDeleteSweet William The Scot
I like your ability to tie a post together like you have done here. Nice job and not to mention the great photos!
ReplyDeleteYou met 'Louise'! That must have been nice, Kim.
No apologies for being busy...this happens to all of us every now and again...so nice to hear you hooked up with Gaye...have a great w/e!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim
ReplyDeleteWe get so happy when we see a post from you. Its like a letter from home! The momma or daddy Phoebe is so beautiful in the tree! So clear, and just gorgeous. And the baby birds, oh gosh!!!! Too sweet!
I am so glad you were able to capture that photo!
We know you are so busy,, so no worries Kim,, don't be stressed about being behind.
You are helping take care of hungry people and your dogs.. and trying to live your life, and you just don't have much time right now.
Its so great to got to meet a fellow blogger, and that she shared some Tartarian Asters with you! How sweet.
We are hoping little Sam gets to feeling better with the chinese herbs.. and that everything works out for when the mom visits.
You are trying to help so many Kim,, you give so much.
We hope you find some quiet time soon
love

How lovely to catch up with everything that's going on in Golden Pines.Visiting you here is always so much more enjoyable than FB.
ReplyDeleteGlad Sam is better.Good to see his handsome face...
I don't really know about the meeting with his former family.Buddy got rather disturbed after we took him to meet his earlier family and it took him quite a long time to adjust at our place again. He was otherwise alright but he would sit at the door and look sad, like he was waiting for someone...and also rush out when a car similar to the one they had passed by. It will be three years now in June since he came to live with us. He no longer seems bothered by that type of cars...
Wishing Sam the best & that his meeting with his former family goes well

ReplyDeleteHatchlings already? Wow.
ReplyDeleteI hope with all my heart that Sam's swelling goes down again.
