Enjoyable Perspective

Low clouds and fog are holding strong in our area this morning, as the weathermen warn that Hurricane Sandy could become an issue for us early next week. Just as they always do with snowstorms, they get us all worried about the weather.  I however, have adopted the wait and see approach.

I am off work for the rest of the week and we getting ready for the arrival of company this evening.  Even though there is so much to do, no matter what is going on, when Thursday comes I always take the time to evaluate in my mind how the week has gone.  I especially like to check in with where I am with my attitude and my thoughts. This is when I really put those annoying and trivial things (and people) that I can't change behind me, and focus on what and who are most important.

Taking this time and early morning walks with the dogs is a great way to do that.  This morning I sat with the dogs as they enjoyed the newly fallen leaves.
Josh enjoyed having his favorite frisbee.
Todd who wasn't with us on the walk, did what he enjoys most and that's digging a hole.
And not being one to miss a good opportunity, Todd took a moment and did another thing that he enjoys doing and that's chasing CC.
For me, it all works together to put things and life back into a much needed perspective.
I hope you're enjoying your Thursday!

  14. Your 'happy place'. Our relatives all have a special 'happy place' where we can retreat to regroup. Looks like you've got it there--with dogs...BONUS.

    Love that Todd.

  18. Hi, This morning we had an inch of snow on the ground and all Hunter wanted to do was lick it and eat it...silly pup. I had to then take him on a walk so he would take care of business. The sun melted most of the snow and hopefully it will stay away. Have a wonderful night and great time with your company. Did you come up with any good ideas for Christmas card photos of pups?

  19. Happy Thursday and I hope your long weekend goes well. As one of my favorite TV and radio personalities, Tony Kornheiser always says, if Jim Cantore is broadcasting from your town you know you are in trouble. Here is hoping Jim Cantore doesn't come your way.

  27. Enjoy your time off with company and the dogs. The dogs look so happy all the time. You are definitely a true blessing for these animals.
I too put people that I can't change behind me and ignore them. I wake up in the morning struggling to get out of bed, but when I do I make sure to laugh about something even if it is me in the mirror. Laughter is the best thing to stay young at heart.
Your blog post are all so positive and fun to read. TFS. ana

  30. Was thinking about you and the pack when I saw the projected path of the storm. Batten down the hatches, snuggle up and have a glass of wine. It will pass. Josh really reminds me of Easton. My big guy is just like that. toys toys toys, but calm and regal the rest of the time.

    Roooooooooooooos from Easton to Annie
