The Pace of the Week

Our week is in full swing!  To add to its pace, I've been asked to work on my day off.  And just to make sure I don't slow down, on Thursday my office starts seeing patients at 7:30, an hour earlier than I'm used to.
For me, losing that free day means I have to get any errands done during my lunch break or after work.  It's times like this that I wish I was more like Todd.  He's always energetic, alert and ready for the next thing to occur, and the next adventure.
Instead, I'm afraid I've gotten to be more like the senior Goldens--Moving at a slower steady and even pace.  But I guess that there's nothing wrong with that, right?
~Toby~
Whatever pace you're moving at this week, I hope it's a good one for you!

  1. Having to work on your day off, bummer!
Hope it all works out okay and you don't get too tired. I'm on a slow pace at the moment, have torn a cartilege in my knee, just had an injection from the Doctor...oouch!

I too am slowing down as I march towards my 50's.

  7. Slow and steady is the best pace I find, as it's my natural one. However, I very rarely get to go at that pace at work! I have a pretty crazy week this week as well and am wondering how I will get everything that needs doing done!

  8. I'm afraid I'm in the Toby category most of my days. But... Once in awhile I hit the Todd highs.

It's beautiful up your way, we haven't quite hit our peak yet.

  16. I just wish we could all get back to playing and partying. This mystery sickness has thrown everyone off our normal schedule and it's no fun.

  17. This reminds of George Bernard Shaw quote of youth is wasted on the young.
Have a good week even if it requires earlier mornings.
    Thanks for being a friend

  22. Hey there, I was here yesterday, and couldn't comment??? Anyhoo, that mountain view, is it a view from your home. Oh how beautiful! When I was still nursing at the clinic, Thursdays were my days off, and I desperately needed them, of coarse, I worked 10 hour shifts the rest of the week, and 12 hour shifts at a nursing home on the week ends. Good luck with that, and give all of the babies a smootch from Soph and me.

  27. i remember in my job . . .
a constant deadline to meet. every day was spent like a greyhound chasing a carrot.
i couldn't go back to that again. ever.
maybe the dentist is simply taking on too much. unless they're emergencies i don't understand it.
    life is so much more.
just ask toby and todd! lol!
    beautiful pictures dear heart.
    such adorable little faces.
and you can almost hear the geese overhead . . .
    love,

  28. Oh my goodness- your photos are so beautiful! The geese- you captured the geese. We have not heard any yet- but I know that soon we will.
    Your golden autumn is breathtaking.
How I wish we could see it.
It's okay to be like the older Goldens one day- and be like Todd the next- that is how we are!
I hope you do not have to work on your day off- every week- that would be a bummmer. It will be hard for you to get up an hour earlier- oh no!
    love

  29. I hope that you make it thru your week at a Toby pace! There's nothing wrong with "slow and steady". After all, that often wins the race!

Todd is a ball of energy!

  33. Hi Kim, you and the crew have been busy and I had a great time catching up and enjoyed all the news. I completely u dear stand your frustration with intermittent Internet breaks and we had a Verizon service rep to our home with the same result...no problems found, but he did replace some wiring so that may help.
