Psychological Snow

I was off work today anticipating Carl's release from the hospital. Unfortunately he had to stay another day, but we are hopeful he'll be home on Tuesday.
~Lucas~
Our day started with what the weatherman was calling 'psychological snow,' meaning it didn't really accumulate or stick to anything, but it was *snow* nonetheless.  Whatever you called it, the dogs hardly noticed as there were workman visible at the edge of our property before it was fully light.
It didn't matter that I closed the gate in the middle of the yard, because the barking and the interest in what was going on continued for hours after the workmen were gone.
Todd takes his job of watch-dog very seriously!
Just as Lucas always takes his job of stalking the cat very seriously.
I hope your week is off to a good start!

  5. Hope Carl comes home tomorrow. We are having real snow today. Nothing phantom about it. As annoying as the barking can be at least you know nobody is ever going to sneak up to your house.

  12. Hey Kim and "gang"! Well the snow we are getting here is very real and accumulating nicely! Crap!
I have been wanting to tell you about the 2 Goldens at the end of my road and how they always put you and the gang in my mind whenever I pass by. Each time I have to drive down the road I eagerly look for them to see if they are out and about and usually unless it is bitterly cold they are there playing, digging, snoozing draped over each others bodies and no matter what they are doing they always put a huge smile on my face. When they are not outside playing or sunning I feel so disappointed. So next year when I make my final move down to the Midwest I am going to look into getting a few rescued senior Goldens and I have to say you were the inspiration for that decision. When the time comes I hope you will impart much advice!
    Have a super day Kim...

  15. Hope Carl is home by now! Our boys are getting used to being city dogs and the comings and goings of people and vehicles. LOL - I can't wait to get them back out into the country.

  16. The photos made me laugh out loud. Lucas and Todd crack me up. Todd reminds me of my Oliver. Well, you received the "psychological snow" and we received the real thing. Any interest in a trade??? :) Hope all is going well with Carl.

boy. i had cardiac arrest in recovery when they put the stent in my heart and a hematoma the size of "a grapefruit" which thank GOD i never saw! and yet they let me (or made me?) go home the next morning. to tell the truth i was a little uneasy ~ wondering if another cardiac arrest was in the cards. one has to hope they know what they're doing! LOL. but . . .
he's getting well. the MAIN thing!

  22. I was so glad to read the previous post, that Carl's surgery went well and that Lucas has found his forever home. You have a heart of gold... that much is sure.

Love the "snow" and the wonderful photos of your pups!

  23. Oh I like psychological snow ~ the kind that sticks to the grass but not the roads. Glad Carl has the surgery over. It is a good thing the dogs bark because I don't think toothless Lucas could do much to protect his property.
    Thanks for being a friend

  24. The Met Office here hasn't adopted Psychological Snow yet but no doubt they will! We've lost 'ground frost' this year and had it replaced with 'grass frost'.....VERY annoying. Hope you have your boy back soon.

  25. Never heard of that kind of snow before, must try to remember that one. lol.

  26. I've never heard of that term 'psychological snow" either. But I get it!
Stranger danger! Hope the workmen aren't going to take out any more tree or shrubbery.
Hope Carl makes it home today. Well wishes!

  29. I hope Carl is home now and recuperating well! As for snow, we got a real dumping here this week, but I'm not concerned, I'm sure it will be gone in no time!
