With the heat, the seniors, like Annie have to be coaxed to go outside, preferring stay inside where it's cool.
Todd on the other hand, being an independent spirit, and not one to follow the crowd, has to be bribed to come back inside!
CarrieAnne however is finding her own relief from the heat. Long time readers of this blog know that Carrie has her own little private swimming hole in a place that only she knows about. Since construction began on the house in back of us, she's not slipped away to take a dip to cool off. But I guess with the heat this evening she just couldn't resist. She was gone for quite awhile and just as it was getting dark and I started to worry about her, she reappeared, happy and very cool!
Whatever it takes!!
Stay safe and cool everyone!

Just watched the weather report and it sounds as if we could be facing a horrible day tomorrow. You and your pups stay safe...
ReplyDeleteWe have been having severe thunderstorms since last week and rain for about a month now. It is hot, muggy, humid and yucky. I hate and mean hate this weather. My poor Roscoe is petrified of the thunder and lightning and hard rain coming down, so I have no choice but to call the ver in the morning to have her prescribe something to calm him down. He paces around the house and breathes heavily and wants to jump and sit on me. Poor thing. Does this happen to your seniors?
ReplyDeleteStay safe and hope that you do not have a power outage.
Ana
Sounds like each dog has it all worked out. We're having rain...and more rain...and more rain. Seems every time we decide to head out for a walk...down it comes.
ReplyDeleteOur little heater is very popular at the moment.
XXXOOO Daisy Bella & Roxy
Carry Ann looks like she had a good wallow !
ReplyDeleteHope all well & storms pass.
Howdy mates, yep stay cool and we'll try and stay warm. Can we swap a bit of weather between us and then it will be just right! Loved the photos. Take care all. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
ReplyDeleteWe're suffering a bit over here after a glorious couple of weeks previously. Gale force winds and rain now! I hope it clears up for you and the dogs soon.
ReplyDeleteOh no!!!! Hope you are all safe from the bad weather,...I didn't blame the dogs for not wanting to go out in the heat, but then there is Todd,:) ......how cute Carry Ann, found a secret swimming hole...must feel good for her.......Take care, Batten down the hatches, Stay safe, Francine.
ReplyDeleteWe were supposed to get bad weather, but it must have passed us. Hopefully you will be spared as well.
ReplyDeleteWe missed the storms on Sunday night, perhaps the same will happen this time, I hope. I listened to the weatherguy yesterday afternoon telling us that we should expect some wild weather today. Lovely. Now I plan to spend my morning battening our hatches and making sure that we are ready ... calling on whatever good voodoo I can to help ward off the worst of it.
ReplyDeleteThat Carrie is one smart cookie. :)
ReplyDeleteStay safe. Love CarrieAnne's & Josh's smiles.

Ooooo a secret swimming hole. Now that is cool. Yes I intended the pun. And I just love how Todd just goes his own way. Stay safe friends if the storms gets to ya, you too Todd.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,

Hello Kim
ReplyDeleteIt's been a while since I've popped in so it's good to see all is well at the moment. See Todd is still loving life and Carrie knows when she's on to a good thing.
We have plenty of rain here at the moment but a bit of warmth wouldn't go astray lol
Don't like the look of those clouds in your first photo Kim do hope the weather doesn't turn nasty for you.
Take care
Cathy

Hi Kim,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the info on the benadryl. I had heard about it before, but was kind of nervous to give it to him. But I will consider it now and also the t-shirt. Thank you, Ana
Yesterday was beautiful here in western New York...in the low 70s. Today, however, it's back to steady rain. What a mess. All of your dogs must appreciate the choices they have for being comfortable!
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping that they are wrong about the weather or it goes on out over the ocean.
ReplyDeleteCarrieAnne could really use a kiddie pool with some clean water. :D
I hope weatherman was wrong.
That is a scary looking sky for sure! The heat is so bad here, Sophie sits inside the house and sticks her little head out her doggy door to see what is going on outside. I just know that she and Todd would get along great if they ever met!
ReplyDeletesuch cute pups. good luck with the storms! yikes!
ReplyDeleteThose clouds in your picture look scary. We don't have as bad stroms here in Finland as you have over there. Stay safe with you furry friends!
ReplyDeleteThe cloud action of late has been extraordinary! Stay safe with these bad winds and rains coming.
ReplyDeleteWell stay safe, all of our twistie weather is over, now its just HOT!
ReplyDeleteThe Mad Scots
Weather is so odd this year. We had warm n humid days then storms. Its currently in the 60's here. More storms coming ... Stay Safe. Annie kind a looks like ME. Golden LOVE. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteIt has been a ruff year so far with the weather!! Are you home today?
ReplyDeleteI know this won't last much longer, we are getting close to July, after all. But our temps have been averaging 50s at night and 70s during the day. Some days are cloudy and some sunny, and really pretty nice, even with the extra rain. But we know, its coming, that HOT Stuff!
ReplyDeleteHope yours isn't too bad and that your pups get through it OK.
Cheers and hugs,
Jo, Stella and Zkhat
I love a gal who knows what she needs and how to get it. I'm glad you are far enough off the beaten path for her to be able to do that too!!
ReplyDeleteI love that Carrie Anne has her own little secret! What a clever girl she is.
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping the weather turns out to be not as bad as expected. Stay safe and dry!
Oh Carrie. Oh Todd.
ReplyDeleteStay safe! Send some of that rain our way.
ReplyDeleteSam
Hi there Kim, Hoping the storm bypasses you! We got terrible winds here last night but today is cooler and rain is forecast-I'm thinking the firefighters will be so thankful. Love hearing about all the pups and who likes what.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend.
Noreen
Laughing at Carrie!
ReplyDeleteWe have rain almost everyday here. My guys don't care for it!
ReplyDeleteWe've had lots of rain and have never seen our yard so soggy. Luckily no severe (thunderstorm) stuff. My biggest problem is getting a chance to mow the lawn. Looks like it will be a few more days away for that and it is already well overdue.
ReplyDeleteGlad everyone is doing well at your house and I hope you don't loose power.
Cindy
Heat and humidity do not make good weather for dogs. Hope you get a respite soon.
ReplyDeleteWe all gotta do what we gotta do. I am like Todd and have to be coaxed inside!! BOL
ReplyDeletewags
Jazzi and Addi
have i mentioned it before?
ReplyDeletei love you and your dogs!
Stay safe! Wouldn't it be fun to secretly see CarrieAnne at her swimming hole someday! What a cool tradition!
ReplyDeleteYou mentioned her fearfulness... perhaps both she and Shyla are suffering from weird weather (ours is smoky with a hot wind). Let's hope it's that simple.
We hold all of your close to our heart that you will all be safe.
ReplyDeleteSorry we have been late coming to visit,,,, just stuff happenning
