The article said that owners of Labs and Golden Retrievers are friendly, good-natured, easy going, carefree, and put their families first. And that the people who own these breeds are known to be very social, honest and very likable.

But one thing I do know for certain as the owner of a Scottish Terrier, is that I really like the way they look after they've been groomed. You may remember earlier in the summer Todd and I 'cheated' on our regular groomer. He was taken to another shop and he ended up with a more 'Westie' appearance. I personally didn't think the look worked for him, but Todd didn't seem to notice and he was happy afterwards, and so I was too.

The pointed ears,
the elongated nose and body,
and that bushy beard and eyebrows.
Which takes me to that sense of humor. It's one of my favorite things!
Maybe I really am more Terrier than Golden Retriever...

As much as I love large dogs, I think I am more of a terrier at heart too. XOX
ReplyDeleteMorning Kim, whoever you resemble you a are very sweet, kind, loving, caring person who I am so happy to call friend.........Love a sense of humor too...oh that Todd, what a guy, love the new do.....Blessings Francine.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photo ! Oh that Todd is such a cutie full of energy he is ! Then I wonder what they say about us here who own Miggs who is a mix of Bearded Collie , a bit of hound , Golden retriever and Wheaten Terrier . All of the above I guess our personalities would be then lol ! Thanks for sharing .. Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteTodd and my George.... Brothers!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes
I am a typical terrier owner
Great post
Oh Kim you sure have a sense of humor and your a great person to have a conversation (does not mean you are talkative). Silly Todd. Golden LOVE to the Golden Pines Gang. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteI think you can be both... Given the time of day. I do love the traditional look on Todd the best.
ReplyDeleteSince I have had more terriers than anything, that may make me the other personality. However, now that I am older, I have a mixed breed of lab and spaniel, too fairly easy going breeds. But I love 'em all!
ReplyDeleteJo
It's absolutely Terriers for me - Cairn's to be precise. :-) And that Todd - why, he looks so darn handsome with his new clip!
ReplyDeleteI think having pets that are very well loved tells a lot about a person too - no? And clearly your pups are very well loved. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday Kim!
xo Catherine
they're all adorable. but todd is a character. :)
ReplyDeleteAww now that really is a clip!
ReplyDeleteI've had dogs my whole life and always find myself drawn to the look of a terrier. They can be exasperating at times, but always fun and entertaining. Todd is just so stinkin' cute! But the sweet and kind face of a Golden or a Lab is always endearing. I love my Aussie but wouldn't have another one because of the undercoat and trying to keep it groomed.
ReplyDeleteHe looks very, very handsome!
ReplyDeleteNow, about the dog differences, are you a Gemini? Because that might make sense.... :)
C.
Love his fall haircut!!
ReplyDeleteTodd's personality just gets captured in all of those photos. SMILE.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love his new hair do!
Love Leanne
Oh dear....Patterdales are tenacious and can be rather aggressive! However, they are not the dogs I would CHOOSE to have. Those would be big gun dogs like Weimeramers (may have spelt that wrong!) and Pointers, but we just don't have the room.
ReplyDeleteIs there any proportion involved in this? Like if you have 9 goldens and 1 terrier do you get to be mostly like the goldens with a spice of something spunky?
ReplyDeleteWhich do you think makes a bigger difference? Who you are leads to what kind of dog you get or does having a certain kind of dog also adjust the way you approach the world?

ReplyDeleteHmmmm....wonder what a bull terrier Rhodesian Ridgeback cross says about HER...
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
Wonder what it would say about Portie owners. Insane maybe.
ReplyDeleteI've always had dogs, Spaniels,Hounds, Labs, and Working dogs but I know I'm not a Terrier person.
Hi Y'all!
ReplyDeleteMy Human likes the Westie look too!
How come they always include Labs and Goldens and leave out the Chessies? Guess us and our humans are just "different". BOL!!!
Y'all come back now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
Todd is a cutie, whatever his haircut!
ReplyDeleteTodd looks awesome! I love his new haircut - it's so classic.
ReplyDeleteI actually think that I'm a border collie at heart but that my Labs play off that overly determined part of me pretty well. A Border Collie and I would be a combination who would never ever sit still!
Todd looks great in his new do. I guess I do follow the "mutt" description since that is what we have now, but my heart is with Germans Shepherds.
ReplyDeleteCindy
What does it mean when you have three different dogs, and two are combo platters? Love your puppies. Mine have a spa date this week for long overdue grooming!
ReplyDeleteWe are positive that you are a little bit Retriever and a Little bit Terrier! Xo Chloe and LadyBug
ReplyDeleteOh, Kim...Todd IS and loves his true identity....what a difference and although I love Goldens, his persona fits many of us!...:)JP
ReplyDeleteWhat a handsome fellow. Cesar is onto a good thing there. Almost as profound as atrology. Madame bay would be mightily impressed.
ReplyDeletei'm a terrier all the way in personality.
ReplyDeletebut the dogs who've owned me were not terriers...
maybe opposites attract! LOL.
my zeke was a pon rescue. he had originated from a puppy mill. they are terrible in my state. but he loved my terrier personality I guess! and to say I LOVED HIS is an understatement. perhaps that's why i HAVE to visit angus everyday. it's like i get to see my own little zeke.
I read the article I am a sight hound girl!! I like the short hair dog!!
ReplyDeleteOh Kim I miss you!!!
Todd looks good, Kim.
ReplyDeleteI think you're flexible, too, given all you have to do.
Have a great day, Kim!
Wow! What a difference the right cut makes! No doubt I am a golden person. Times two.
ReplyDeleteTodd does look very handsome with his Scotty cut. I can see why you fancy it. I honestly don't think anyone can pigeonhole dog owners by the breed they prefer. It's like a Horoscope, half fun, half rubbish. ...oh, and about the mailbox - yes, its living in the city. Hope your new neighbors are nice and that trucks visiting them are not delivering sides of beef. All the dogs will be chasing them.
ReplyDeleteLove Todd's little beard...Don't know if I'm like a cocker spaniel but when I get up in the morning Lucy and I have the same hairdo.
ReplyDeleteFunny, how different Todd's outlook is after different cutting styles. I like them both!
ReplyDeleteTodd never cheat again you always get screwed. My mom wants to know if the article mentioned Stubborn.
ReplyDeleteAroo to you,
Sully
LOL - neat article! Although, I'm not much of a social butterfly - I prefer to stay home with the furkids.
ReplyDeleteSam
Yup, the scottie cut is distintive. Todd is looking good!
