We Are Okay

Its been more than a week since the unexpected loss of CarrieAnne.  The sadness of her loss trapped me last week, and I couldn't seem to escape it.  No matter how much I tried, no matter how many friends tried to cheer me up, I just couldn't break free.  It's the nature of grief.

But the healing has started. Life continues on.

We are okay.

  2. We went through it almost 2 years ago. The peeps and other pups will go through it soon with me. Such is the cycle of life and life should go on.

  4. Sadness will pop up when least expected, and will take time. The pack will know, and grieve too. Those lovely faces are giving you so much love right now, take time, do not hurry this healing, let tears help, and darling CarrieAnne is always in your heart. Hugs, Jean,.

  5. And being "OK" is what you need to be right now. Lots of puppy kisses and snuggle time always helps too and it looks like your crew can meet that goal. Peace to you, Sister...

  7. Thanks for the update. So glad that you are okay and improving. Not to many people have had to survive so many losses in a short period of time. I guess it is to be expected when you have the strength and enough love to give these pups a perfect place to live out their lives. Still not easy. How many times have I said how much I appreciate and respect what you and your husband do.

  17. Howdy Mates. We can all relate to how you feel. Then suddenly one day you smile over a special memory and life slowly moves forward. Little by little. Take care and know we are thinking of you all.

  21. The loss of a family member never gets easier, does it? We're sure the pups are grieving as well. Todd seems like he's ready to make everyone smile (I think that's always a scottie's favorite job!). Take care...

  30. Your posts almost always bring a tear to my eyes (both happy and sad). I was just thinking this morning that at some point we will lose one of our four girls and I just cannot imagine the void or the pain that will inflict . . . these aren't just pets in our lives . . . these are family members. So very sorry for your loss. I sure wish more dogs could be loved like your CarrieAnne.
