While the Sun Shines

It has been a mostly wet and rainy weekend.
However, we have needed the rain and got quite a bit during the week that was pretty intense at times. Our weather men who keep up with these kinds of things had been saying we needed it because there was a deficit.

I'm not sure how much we've gotten.  But it was enough to get some great muddy paw-prints.
And to get the grass to grow
and the prettier of the weeds too.

Today the sun came out for just a little while, so we took advantage of being outside.
~Jake~
Until the chilly wind and the dark clouds rolled back in.  Again.
It was nice while it lasted.

  1. Sunshine does have its good points. (At least in May) It looks as if Todd is the real messer, ha ha! Maybe because he's closer to the ground. :-)
Glad you had a little break in the clouds. :-) Have a good week!

  2. We just got back from one of those Murphy's law walks: It will start raining at the farthest apex of your walk. And stop the minute you get back to the car! Otto enjoyed a little Osa-free time!

  3. Pretty much the same here and it's been quite chilly. We're lucky that Lucy comes in through the garage and she knows we get the paws cleaned before she's allowed inside the house.

  4. We had the rain here for several days, sunshine the past two days and now frost warnings . . . Looking green and colorful around here though. . .
Be careful in that " slip, sliding away" muddy terrain!

It is muddy here also with cold temperatures.

  8. Todd is so wet and "bedraggled"!!! Molly and Jake look a lot happier. Hope it eases up and you get warmth and sunshine in a good dose.

  9. Todd looks as though he doesn't care how wet he is - he just likes being outdoors ! Molly and Jake, as Retrievers, love water - no matter where it comes from ! It's the cleaning up afterwards for the humans that's a chore !

  13. Yes, we have finally had spring weather this year, and didn't go straight from winter into summer.
Lots of paw prints there, we've kept a towel in the kitchen non-stop to wipe up wet kitty paws all spring :)
Lovely pictures, your flowers are growing fast.

  17. Molly is looking more comfortable. I'm starting to think of looking for a mature dog to share our life and home. Your posts are so inspiring.

  18. We are in a similar weather pattern. We need it too but that doesn't stop me from grumbling about it. Molly and Jake look great! And I bet that Todd's event is totally behind him. All around great news. I love your "weeds"!

  19. We've got hail forecast for this afternoon ! And to think it was only last week it seemed as if the heat would be unbearable.

  20. Golly, it's a while since I commented, but I love the dirty towel - we have our son's darling Goldie frequently, and there are a series of towels inside our back door too. The only way to give the carpet a fighting chance.

Todd's undercarriage needs a rub - Kiwa loves a good tummy rub when she's wet, does Todd?

  21. It is important to get out there and enjoy it while you can! Honestly, we were amazed at how much water we saw while driving home from Myrtle Beach. I always think of you when we travel through Virginia! Wishing you a very Happy Mother's Day!

  23. Our rain is supposed to come back later today. We were just starting to dry out. Mom got a few days without mopping.

  24. Oh dear, I'm slow in catching up here. Worth the wait for me though, as I think Todd wears his soggy-doggy look so well ;)
