Embracing Our Inner Homebody

There was a time when Saturday night was the night we went out and stayed up late.  But those days are long gone.  Now we have no energy for that kind of thing.

Saturday nights are less about the weekend, but more about giving in to the exhaustion that accompanies a busy week.
We truly embrace our inner homebody.

And I'm okay with that!

I hope you're enjoying your weekend!

  2. Seems SHE now goes to bed when the young ones are heading out for a night on the town. LOL! But enjoys it much more than noisy parties. We've had a quiet, enjoyable weekend.

  3. I agree, weekend days are for yardwork, laundry and hopefully some hiking too. But weekend evenings? Definitely for relaxing at home!

  4. Alas, slowing down comes to us all as the years advance ! I remember the time when I used to walk three dogs together for at least an hour, twice every day !
Lovely to see the dogs relaxing together.

and all i can say is... thank heaven.
it's so lovely to be content and more of a happy homebody.
    i love the pictures here.
with todd ... being home will always be a hoot anyway!
am dealing with a little heart issue again dear bean. AFIB. did some ER and hospital time and waiting for a couple of weeks now to shock the old thing with paddles to bring it back to a proper beat. not fun but as with so much in your own life you know about things that aren't fun but necessary. hope to have as much courage as you and your wonderful wagging housemates.
something about stopping and then starting one's heart again seems a little daunting! but they say it works. XOXO♥

  7. So, so true . . .
I can't imagine going back to those late nights,
"up at it early morning"any more!
Our one little ball of fluff . . . is entertainment for us.
Always look forward to seeing your "furry family."
    Todd antics and all . . .

  8. I don't know how I did it, staying up all night with friends, home for a quick shower, then off to work. Now I love our quiet evenings together and look forward to bedtime. The dogs all know and enjoy the routine.

  9. I think it's time for Todd to assert himself and demand that the menagerie get pizza on Saturday nights.

  10. They certainly are a happy-looking bunch. Todd is such a character. I really like Charlie.

  11. We hear you - Mom and Dad do Saturday afternoon movies now instead of the late show:) But weekends should be for rest and relaxation and reflection.

  15. That is most of our weekends too? It is re-charge time.

  16. Looks like there are many of us that can identify with you. With traffic and constant construction and the busyness of life outside of our home sweet home, staying home is indeed a peaceful blessing.
    Have a good week.

  18. Absolutely!! It has been quite a few years since we did the party scene! BOL! Rest and relaxation sounds perfect! Thanks for your kind words.💜💜

  19. Yes, that you. I remember (dimly) having the energy to go out and party in the weekend, and bouncing the next day. Definitely long over for me too. We had a Goldie for the long weekend, our granddog, and at 7 years old, she enjoys sleeping on our bed (definitely not permitted at home) and going for slow sniffy-walks. Very satisfactory all around.

  22. Oh yes, home sweet home. I know we are pretty boring by some people's standards, but that's really okay with me.

  23. Same here. We've become homebodies as well. Lucy likes it when we stay home with her.

  24. We laugh when someone asks about going out. If it's after 8:00 it ain't happening! LOL we used to start our night at 10:00 pm...

  25. I'm with you. And, now that I live in the mountains, I have very low tolerance for anything that involves crowds. So, either it's a dinner with mountain friends or it's staying home for us!!!
