Bailey Arrives at Golden Pines

We all know that life doesn't stop, even if you want it too.  Your heart keeps beating, and life somehow goes on. In the midst of Josh leaving us, another life was starting over.  On Sunday we welcomed a new addition named Bailey.
~Bailey on the ride home~
Bailey is 12 years old, and she tragically and sadly lost her owner last week.  She and several other dogs were left without a place to go.  The fiancee of her former owner wanted Bailey to be happy, so she turned her over to the rescue.
Bailey was a little nervous and tentative at first. But our dogs liked her right away and she's got the approval of Todd.
It hasn't taken long for Bailey's big personality to emerge.  She's affectionate, will bark when she wants something or for reasons that I can't quite figure out yet.  As I write this, she's snoozing at my feet.
I think these are all good signs!  I'm happy that this girl (with a spotted tongue) that once lived overseas for several years is settling in nicely in our little corner of Virginia.

  3. Oh Kim, The needs of so many Goldens won't hardly let you have time to grieve. Another sweet pup to love and nurture in her new home. But, it in no way diminishes the remembrance of Josh. Sweet Josh helped to pave a way for others to be loved.

  5. Oh my, what a sanctuary place and person you are!
I often think, how would Snickers survive
if we were both both "gone" at the same time.

Welcome Bailey . . . enjoy your stay!
You have found a wonderful home!

  6. Bailey's face tells of a love within, and to be by your feet, a sure sign of trust already. No time to grieve, Josh's memory will be filled with the love he gave and was given. I am sure he was given the hugest welcome ever at the bridge, as he chose his way to leave you. Peaceful, and where he was so loved and cared for ,...for all those years. Hugs.XXX

  15. I'm sure Josh wouldn't begrudge you another orphaned pup because he wouldn't want you to be sad that he was gone.

  18. The odd barking could just be that Bailey is still trying to figure out what happened.
If Todd likes her, though, she will do well.
    *Hugs* and God bless, Kim.

  25. Well, Bailey is another beautiful girl who has fallen on her feet. If she has Todd's approval, then she will fit right in with the rest of the crew. It will probably take her a while to realise that, sadly, her owner isn't around any more.

  30. Bailey looks to be fitting right in with the rest of the pack. Getting Todd's approval was a great first step! How sad it is that her owner has passed. She must be very confused about where she is. Glad to see that she is cuddled up at your feet...she feels comfortable with you!
