Hello August!

Well, Friends, it's August. Quite frankly, I can't believe it. How did July pass by so quickly? I know, I know, I say this all the time, but I literally blinked and the month was gone.
A patient at my office said, and I totally agree, that July was an unusually "hades-type-temperature-month" in Northern Virginia.  Charlie, in the video below, totally agrees as he enjoyed a bowl of ice on the last day of the month.
In the 13 years we've had Charlie, he's always enjoyed bowls of ice. And it's the one thing he won't share.

But I wonder what August will bring? Will it bring a forever home for Ginger? (below)  I've no way of knowing that, but what I do know is that I'm not ready for summer to be over.
We all know that we don't have a say in any of it. So all we'll do is try to make the best of our time that keeps passing me by all too quickly.
~Todd (in Tenn) always has something to say!~

  4. We've been saying the same thing for three days now. How can it be August already? Loved the video of the bowl of ice. This summer has flown past at warp speed.

  5. I'm not ready for summer to be over either!!! It's going too fast, and then winter just hangs on too long. Maybe I need to change my perspective? :) Your pups are adorable!

  6. We put ice in the outside cats bowl of water and it freaked them out, however, little by little, they accepted them. Now they run over to the bowl when they see us with the glass of ice. It doesn’t take long to melt in the terrible heat we have been having.

  13. I don't know where July went either, Kim. The days, weeks, months & years of my life keep going faster & faster... much faster than I ever remember them going when I was young. I had to giggle at the video of Charlie & his ice. *lol* That's ok.... some things we don't have to share and in Charlie's case that's his ice. God bless him with much more in his lifetime. Love you, Andrea xoxo

  15. Unfortunately August will probably whizz by, too. (I know because the Loudoun Co nieces and nephews are teachers...) It's about 30°F here at the moment. We're looking forward to some warm! Enjoy every minute of August.

  16. Summer always passes by too fast, and it's hard to believe it's August. We can feel the days getting shorter already.:(
All our dogs liked ice when they were puppies, but then outgrew it. I wonder why, or if Charlie is unusual? :)

  18. We're having tough weather patterns here in Central Texas, too, with a week of 103 and 104 temperatures forecasted. Through the years, some of our goldens have loved ice so much that I've used it as a treat for training and others just don't understand the hype. I've just read that ice can break dogs' teeth, and I kind of wish I hadn't read it!

  19. I could not agree more about time going too fast and making the best of each day that we have. I love Charlie and his bowl of ice. You are such a loving person to every single dog in your family.
