FINALLY It's Friday!!!

I cannot begin to say the relief I'm feeling at it being Friday! It has been a really long and busy week, especially at work. While I love my job, working at the front desk brings its own challenges that I don't know that I handle as well as our office manager. The issues this week ranged from a co-worker who didn't show up (long story, she called from Disney World), letting myself get schmoozed by a charming, handsome scrap metal salesman, brownies and sushi from the "masseuses" in our building, (a story for another day) yet another key problem when my office key got stuck in the door, and I couldn't get the office deposit to balance today, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Needless to say, it's all left me exhausted, behind on everything and not feeling really well.

On the flip side, the news from Patch's new home is all good! He's settling in nicely and the family totally adores him!

It is good news for the Chub Brothers too! They are doing wonderfully! They have settled in so nicely, and have not been a moment of trouble! When I think of a bonded pair of Golden Retrievers, they are exactly what I think of. The two are always together, licking one another's faces and sleeping side by side. Toby, on the left, has a sweet and a goofy personality.

Toby is now going on our morning walks with us and he loves going as much as he loves rolling in the grass!

Mobility remains an issue for Bubba. He can't get up the 2 steps on our back porch. The picture below shows what happens when he attempts them...But we have remedied that by putting a ramp up, which has really helped. Bubba is a bit more "serious" of the two, and each time I've helped him up the steps, he's tried to lick my face--It's like he's thanking me. But how could you not love that?
With July 4th, I have a 3 day weekend. I think I'll take my cue from the dogs this evening and just relax and maybe catch up on a few things. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

  6. Yes, we can learn a lot by just observing how animals go about life. We should follow their example more often.
    Have a good, relaxing weekend!

  14. Kim, What's that white thing amongst all that golden? ;-)

I didn't realize you were so close to Brunswick.. we're about an hour. There are other bands that play there who we go to see - it such a great coffee house. Maybe we'll eventually bump into one another!

I totally sympathize with a work week like you had and then all your normal chores thrown on top of it - ugh! So, make sure you pamaper yourself and chill out this weekend!

    Have a great one!

  20. Hey Kim, great news about Patch. I know it weighed heavily on your mind last week. Looks like all is well. The bonded chub brothers should pull each other along for the rest of their lives. They are so lucky to have such a great pack and leader to share that with. Those faces - priceless.

Have a great 3 day weekend. Love to all the dogs.

  24. Relaxing is always top of my list these days :)
I was smiling when I looked at the bottom photo, and thinking there is really no need for rugs around your place !
After you posting about your truck remote dying...guess what, my battery went dead yesterday, I had just loaded up the back of my vehicle with flowers, put the key in the ignition, and nothing....
You were the first person I thought of, I checked to make sure my key would at least open the door, since by now, the automatic system had gone down.
Doesn't it leave you feeling helpless, luckily a nice policeman used his jumper cables and got me going again, straight to the dealership and a new battery.
Hope you have a wonderful and relaxing long July 4th weekend.
    You deserve it !

  25. What a funny picture with all the dogs lying on the floor. I want to know how they decide who gets the dog bed - rock, paper, scissors? Have a wonderful long weekend.

  27. Working is a drag isn't it? What would you do if you won the lottery? Buy a bigger house and home more goldens? :-)

  28. Hi Kim
Bubba's picture reminds me of my Apples - she needs a boost up the steps in order to get into the house.

What GReat pictures of the gang sleeping! Having dogs in the house makes a home complete!
