Almost on Time!

With Carl working nights for now, that leaves yours truly to get the dogs walked and fed in the morning.  Being a bit obsessive compulsive, I try to stay on schedule in the morning by doing each task at the same time.  But for some reason, if I end up getting behind, I can never make up that lost time and I end up being late for work.  That's what happened on Friday morning.  While I did oversleep just a little, I was doing okay with my time.  I was all ready for work--With efficiency and focus the dogs had all been walked, fed, talked to and hugged--I let them outside one last time, and to get them to come back inside, I gave them a treat.  All the dogs were happy and accounted for...Except for one little sheep...

A look out in the yard revealed this.
A call to the culprit, who was not happy about leaving his job undone...
And I was late for work.  You just can't make up the time it takes to give a dog a 'quick' bath!

  5. That look on his face in the last picture is priceless - you know, the "I know I've done something I shouldn't have, but how can you possibly be angry with someone as cute as me?" look. Our Frankie has that look down to a T...

  7. Oh, dear me! There's just no way to hide the fact that you've been up to mischief in the back yard when you're white, is there?

I shouldn't laugh. I'm sure that, at the time, it wasn't the least bit funny. I hope you did what I do once I realize that it's a done deal and I WILL be late: I stop hurrying and just enjoy a little extra time at home...

  10. Aww, he looks sorry, you'll just have to take his word for it.
I've tried doing quick baths, it never works that way :)

  13. He looks so guilty. And cute!

Many years ago I was going to a ball (those were the days!) and was all ready to go in my ball gown. I let my dog out for a last toilet stop but she wouldn't come back in. Turns out she was experiencing a bit of a problem shaking off her poo (sorry, there's no nice way to put that!). That ball gown took ages to get into, there was no way I was going to be able to take it off so I had to wash her bottom wearing the ball gown. A very surreal moment I can tell you!

  15. Ha! What cute photos!! I feel your pain though, I've been running right along, counting the minutes, and then one of my two pulls some lovely little number such as this.
Have a great remainder of the weekend.

My little George has caused me to be late due to him getting in mud--I can’t tell you how many times.

I got SPRAYED by a skunk last night around MIDNIGHT....2 baths later, and 2 am....we sill have the smell lingering in the house...it may have been carried up into the heating ducts, and spread into places that shouldn't smell...what an expected event! 22. Hi there, I can't believe the cute look he is trying to give you so he doesn't get in trouble. So sorry your Friday started out so behind with work. Hey, do you take vitamin D3? I know it helps us a lot during winter-with not seeing the sun as much. Wish we lived closer so you could use us as a get-away. Hope you are having a restful but enjoyable day.
    Hugs, Noreen

  23. Rob and I are both laughing. This looks like an instant replay of one of our recent mornings. Why is it always the white ones who most enjoy playing in the dirt?

  26. HeeHee...the look on his face says 'Uh-OH, I'm in trouble!'

Yes, you are Charlie...yes you are!

  27. Sorry - I don't think that I was supposed to laugh but I did! He looked so guilty and so dirty!

Yes, there's no such thing as a "quick dog bath"!

One time, I was late for work because I was bringing my very elderly Lab with me. He, unfortunately, pooped in the car and then lay in it, squishing it all over the place, before I could pull over. I had to turn around and go home to clean the dog and the car. I missed the entire morning of work!

Thanks for your kind words about "my mistake" that I freaked out about yesterday. All seems well.

  28. Scrolling down and seeing that face was the BEST! Soooooooo cute. I know that is a rough way to start the day, but it brought the rest of us some joy to see his face :)

  31. If you stick the muddy ones in the kitchen [or where ever] and just let the mud dry during the day, you can brush it off at night. There will be a few muddy paw prints on the floor, which is the SOP around here, anyway. Bet you're REALLY looking forward to your trip to TN now. Is he one of the doggies going with you?

  34. Very cute pic. What a naughty pup! You know, I think everyone with a white dog has one or two pics like that. Lol! Mine likes to stick nearly his entire head in mole holes. I feel your pain! :)
