Ready or Not!!

My van is washed, blinker fixed, and all the needed food for us and the dogs has been bought.  The list of instructions is all written out for the dog-walker, laundry done and my house is all cleaned up.  We're 'almost' ready for our much anticipated trip to Tennessee. Heavy rain is expected for the drive tomorrow.  But the forescast improves on Thursday and Friday. Rain or shine, I am like a kid before Christmas and am really excited about the trip!

However, with the rising price of gasoline that seems to be going up every day, I just hope we'll be able to afford the gas to get there and back without having to take a second mortgage on our house!
I'm really going to miss the pups that we're not taking with us.
We've never both left the dogs before, but I know they'll be just fine!

One thing I can't leave behind is my computer.  As you may know, I'm an 'internet junkie' so we are taking one with us.  Hopefully I'll be able to post pictures of our trip while we're gone.  If not, look for an update by the end of the weekend when we return!
I hope you have an enjoyable week!!  (Tanner below)

  5. Hello Kim
We have that same problem with the price of petrol/gas so that price board could definitely been seen here as well - its jumped up again this past week and 'they' are blaming Libya this time for the rise
No matter what Kim, enjoy the break - take care on the road.

  7. The dogs could go along, harness them up and they can pull the van. That way you can save gas and have a cheap vacation.

  10. Have an awesome time!

I like your gas price sign. It made me smile, remembering that when we did a huge trip to Montana, our longest road trip ever, diesel for our 4wd van was over $4 per gallon. We just said WTF and laughed! Gotta live...

  14. Thanks for leaving the comment on my blog Kim. I wish I could take Ivy but we just don't have the room. After I rescued Sammy (all 140 pounds of him) I promised my husband I would network to find homes. It just makes me so so so so sad.

I know you understand....I will keep networking until I find her the right home....Thanks again..

  15. Drive safely and have a blast!!!

As for gas prices, if you think they're bad down in the States, try our Canadian prices on for size. In Montreal we are currently paying 1.35 a liter. Convert that to gallons and we would be paying 5.40$ a gallon...if I calculated that right. I looked up your gas prices in West Virginia and they would be the equivalent of 88 cents a liter up here...We would be so happy to be paying your prices!!!

  17. Oh, I wish you the most wonderful trip EVER! I hope you get to relax and have fun. Sleep in, go for long walks. Snuggle with your hubby and cuddle the lucky dogs who get to make the trip with you. I'm so happy that you are able to take this time to refresh yourself and recharge your batteries. You work so hard ~ now you get to play!

Have fun! I'm glad you're taking your computer so we can keep tabs on you...

  33. We are also daunted by the thought of rising gas prices... 2 months till we are back in the UK where it will be the equivalent of nearly $2.30 a litre!!

  35. That is such a GREAT sign - first time I've laughed at "gas" pains at the pump! Looks like a beautiful trip you're having and a Tennessee cabin sounds wonderfully inviting - know you're having a super time! And the scenery is spectacular - can't wait to hear more!
