Tennessee, Llamas and Donkeys--Oh My!!!

We've had such a nice day!!  Blue skies and sunshine, but a little cooler than it was yesterday. But that didn't keep us from getting outside into the fresh air and taking the dogs for a walk. (below is Hamlet)
It was quite a change from the weather we had last week while in Tennessee.  We had everything there from snow to rain to warm sun--The view were just stunning; eastern Tennessee is really beautiful!
But the trip there was really nice!!  The cabin at 'Autumn Dancer Llama Farm' is just perfect!!  It has every comfort of home that you could possibly need or want!  It is the perfect 'dog friendly' getaway--Carl and I and the dogs felt right at home!  The miniature donkeys were really friendly but the dogs had a hard time being convinced of that!
I really loved the llamas!  Unlike Carl (below) I kept my distance from them and admired them from afar.  I took a lot pictures of them--It was hard to pick out my favorites because the llamas seem to be photogenic--Who would have guessed that?
Below is a French-Canadian Appaloosa Llama...
Even though we lost Tanner just after we returned, we really feel like our batteries have been recharged.
I think it gave us the extra energy to get through the week.
We can't wait to go back again, and may return in the fall.
If you're looking for a really nice 'dog friendly' place to stay near Gatlinburg Tennessee, here's the link to where we stayed: http://www.vrbo.com/233853

  3. Beware of llamas - they will spit - I know from experience - and it's slimy!! LOL!!

It looks like you had a great time - it's nice to get away occasionally and just have a change of pace.

  8. Good morning Kim. I love Llama's. They are such friendly creatures (I heard they spit, though... lol). This sounds like a wonderful, peaceful place to relax. It looks like everyone had a good time. Hamlet looks like he has a smile on his sweet face. And that Donkey is precious (I wish I knew what he was thinking...)
Glad you all had a good time.

  9. Good Morning, Kim!
That scenic view of the hills - looks like a painting, would be great blown up and framed. The llama faces are so cute!
I'm sure the dogs had never encountered such strange different animals before, I wonder what they had going on in their minds!
I am glad you guys had such a great time!
    Good Sunday!

  15. Great photos. Wilf had a run in with a temperamental llama at a hotel just off Hadrains Wall on our journey from Scotland to France. He went to say hello and got a face full of high velocity phlegm. One unimpressed PON !

  18. Beautiful pictures, particularly of the llamas which are so beautiful. They have such ridiculous expressions on their faces, don't they?! Love the photos of the dogs 'chatting' to the donkey.

Hamlet looks wonderful with the breeze in his hair. He really is smiling!

  24. Oh Kim
Thank you for sharing your beautiful trip to Tenessee with us.
The beauty is everything I imagined on how it would be. The Alpacas are such sweeties, and so beautiful. We have some that live in our area too. The minature donkeys remind me of the donkeys my moms used to have.
I know your "get away" revived you,,, and now I am hoping you start to get some wonderful spring times.
I hope you can go back again to your little hide away in Tenessee.
Thank you for sharing the beauty.
I think of you every day,, and send love for your heart to continue healing.
    love
