A Rare Treat

Earlier in the week we were treated to a rare show of the northern-lights. Of course they are not as vivid or as beautiful as when we saw them in Alaska, but it was amazing and a bit of a surprise to be able to see them here in Virginia.  There really is no way a camera can capture the feeling of watching something like this in person.  Mother Nature can really put on a show can't she?
Jasmine is on the mend.  However the injury to her nose got a little infected and she was looking a bit like 'W.C.Fields' with a big round, swollen nose.  Thanks to antibiotics, she's looking a little better today.  Toby also hasn't been feeling well.  I'd hoped it was a 'bad restaurant review,' but I think because its continued for a couple of days and his appetite is waning, there may be something else going on. I'm hoping it's nothing too serious.

It's a wet day here and the weather forecast mentioned that there might be some snow as colder temperatures and more rain arrives just in time for the weekend.  But for today, I've gotten all my errands done, and look forward to reading your blogs and keeping an eye on the dogs.  I wonder what Charlie is able to keep an eye on?

The weather is the same up here. Could have snow tonight.

I love all three photos and hope the pups are doing well.

When Bailey was about a year old, her sisters ran her into the fence face first. She ripped up the skin along one side of her face and muzzle. It got infected, of course, and we had quite a mess on our hands. It healed well and she's gotten a lot tougher since then. Good luck with the autumn ills.

Thanks for stoping by and commenting on the epilepsy. I still hold my breath at times and my heart aches for him and I know that the phenob will hurt his kidneys some day but I live in the now and for now we are ok. Its a horrible thing to go through and watch - my heart is with you too on dealing with this. Im always here if you ever want to vent, cry or discuss about it :)

LOL we were walking in shorts and tank tops sweating in 88 degree weather yesterday..sigh.

We hope everyone is soon on the mend! I got to see the Northern Lights in Arizona one year - it was awesome. We were camping with the horses behind the Superstition Mountains and they appeared around midnight. It was very awesome!

I've seen the northern lights only once, and I didn't know what they were. I thought that a big jetliner had crashed and burned just over the hill. I felt so silly when someone told me what I'd seen!

I hope that all is ok with Toby, and I'm glad that Jasmine is on the mend.

Snow, there? Wow, winter must really almost be here!

Northern Lights are pure magic - I have only seen them a few times in my life, and every time is fresh in my mind. I can't believe you got a picture!

Poor Jasmine, and Poor Toby. Here's hoping the weekend finds them feeling much, much better.

I have seen the Northern Lights three times and they are totally awe-inspiring. Almost like an out-of-body experience.

Hope everyone is soon on the mend and that the weekend weather isn't as bad as the forecast.

I've never witnessed the Northern Lights except through pictures and amazingly enough, they wer even visible as far south as Tennessee this year, the colors were orange not green or red...
How lucky you are to have seen them in person.
Hope everyone there is soon on the mend and you can enjoy your weekend.

Charlie definitely has a winter coat - will he keep that all winter or will you have some of it clipped off?

Lucky you for the northern lights, I was really hoping to get to see them, but it was too cloudy! I've actually never seen any northern lights at all!

I hope Jasmine and Toby are both on the mend again today and as for Charlie, he reminds me of how I used to look when I was little and my mom would tell me that my bangs needed a trim!

That's great that you got to see the northern lights. I'm not sure they were visible here. If they were, nobody was talking about it.

Northern lights, and snow before Halloween...sounds like you live in Montana! Ha!

Have a good one!

I was wondering who in blog-land would see those lights. I had read about them in a magazine earlier in the month. Yeah for you. It must have been just amazing to see. It's a good day to stay in (wet and cold here). Hugs to dogs. Hope they all get back on the up-swing of things.

It must have been wonderful seeing the Northern Lights...Hoping Jasmine's nose is better by the day. Our William got an eye infection the other day, now has ointment from the Vet...he runs when he sees the packet come out! but is much better even after a couple of days.
