I really don't like being sick, because I'm just not good at it. I especially don't like to be home from work when I am because we don't have paid sick days at my office. I did go to work yesterday and lasted until about lunchtime, and I stayed home today. However I know that if I was at work, I'd be miserable, and so would the patients and my germa-phobe co-workers who would be hearing me cough, and sharing my air-space. So what else could I have done...Illness really frustrates me...
Feel better Kim, the doggies need you!

So sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Looks like Todd is glad to have you home though. Take care and hopefully you'll be back to feeling better soon! *HUGS*
ReplyDeleteIs Todd looking after you? Illness is just such a waste of time, I agree.

sorry sorry! i do like john gray's suggestions, tho! :)
ReplyDeletehope you feel better soon Kim x
ReplyDeleteI did not send it - honest, sorry you caught it :(
ReplyDeleteYes, it does sound like you need a warm cup of moose milk, it might help, or at least make you not care.
So sorry you're not well! What's a person to do, though? Can't work when you're sick! I only get four days per year. Imagine last year when my husband was so sick for two weeks! I try to save my sick days for when emergencies occur, but sometimes you just can't help it.
ReplyDeleteHeel! Sorry, I mean heal!
ReplyDeleteTook a few minutes to catch up on your previous posts, Kim.
ReplyDeleteI had a bad cold for about two weeks -- just got over it. It really sucks being sick -- the older I get, I just have no patience for it any more. :)
Feel better dear!
I betcha Todd and the rest of the clan is glad your home. Are you in the medical field, I just noticed you mentioned patients? If so, these are the worse patients ever! I know, I am a nurse, and I am a horrible patient. Hubby is a dr., and you can't tell him anything. The last time he was sick and refused medical attention, he ended up in the hospital and I thought he was gonna die. But he kept refusing help because he knows everything! Lol, it wasn't funny at the time tho. Let me know if I need to make some home made chicken noodle soup and get it in the mail pronto.
ReplyDeleteA pot of tea a blanket and your pups that would make me feel better lol Hope you get better soon. Have a restful eve.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you're not feeling well :o( I have only had paid sick days for going on two years and I know how much being sick freaked me out before that. One time I had a pinched nerves and pinched muscles in my upper back and was in so much pain I could hardly speak, but when I called my mom for help, I was crying because I was going to have to miss work, not because I was in pain. I hope you are well enough to head back to work tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteIm so sorry your sick, I know that feeling bad sucks, that was me last week. hang in there and the most important thing is for you to get better.
ReplyDeleteWish I could send you some elderberry wine :-)
ReplyDeleteWell, while you are home, take real good care of yourself and I hope you get well very soon. Jasmine is a beauty isn't she! ;D
ReplyDeleteGet well soon!
ReplyDeleteI am smiling. Oh, not because you are sick, but because I'm not good at being sick either. Take care of yourself and feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel much better soon.
ReplyDeleteDaggum it! Sorry you are not feeling well. But, you are right to stay home and not go spreading the germs around that's for sure!
ReplyDeletetake your time getting well, and you do right by staying at home and keeping the germs to yourself.
ReplyDeleteGet well soon,
Gill
I can take about a day of bed rest, and after that I go squirrely. But taking it east is the fastest way through, so hang in there! And feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon sweet lady!

ReplyDeleteI hope you are feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon Kim!
ReplyDeleteI understand. After just recovering from a bout of stomach flu--four days in bed, I don't enjoy being sick either.

OK. Here's the secret:
ReplyDeletetreat yourself as good as you would treat one of your dogs!
;-)
I hope you feel better FAST!

ReplyDeleteLove ya lots

It's always best to stay home when you are sick ~ though I feel sorry for anyone that does not have paid sick days.
ReplyDeleteI find it funny that so many Doctor's offices don't give their employees paid sick days. It's like that here too. It just seems contradictory to me.
I hope you are feeling better Kim and were able to curl up and relax!
xo Catherine
i'm just like you! i have no patience for it... and usually because i fight it so, it seems to last longer.
ReplyDeletea co-worker told me once "why do you have to be such a martyr? just go home!" ouch!
it was just drilled into me to carry on and never give up, as a child. and that carried into adult.
but you know what? i'm 66 now and i've discovered, the co-worker was right!!! life is just too short.
treat yourself with kindness kim.
if ever anyone deserved some time it's YOU!
love,
tammy j
You need some good spicy homemade soup and don't forget Zinc. Doc’s orders……yep!
ReplyDeleteGet well soon. Bummer that you have to stay home but I'm sure the doggies love that you are home.
ReplyDeleteI hate being sick, too, but one of the good things about working in a school is they give you paid sick days. There are too many germs floating around, and not enough people with the sense to stay home and not share them with everyone if they don't have a paid day to stay home. I hope you're feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteI used to get paid sick days 1.25 days a month...now that I`m retired and have the flu what am I supposed to do...haha!
ReplyDeletesend me an invoice
ReplyDeleteI hope that you feel better soon. Todd would be good medicine - he'll give you a smile per minute!
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better. Mama's with the co-workers, though; not interested in others sharing their germs, thanks anyway. Stay home, get well sooner. No paid sick leave really sucks, though!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Jasmine! Sounds like it's too bad those rotten people didn't give her up to a better home about 11 years ago. Glad she ended up with you.
Thanks for the update on Riley. We've been wondering how she's doing. We'll keep our paws crossed for her.

Hello to my little Todd! Hope all is well on your side. Give kim a big sloppy lick for me - hope she is recovering from her sickies!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Homer
Ditto! I am NO GOOD at being sick, period!
ReplyDeleteWith 42 comments you surely don't need another one but here I go anyway!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim, so sorry you are sick.
I was broken hearted to see Tinker go!! I wanted her to live the rest of her life with me!! I fell hard for her. I sure hope you are right about something better coming along for Tinker! I told them if they could not find a home for her to bring her back to me and I would live with come what may!! It would be better then them having her put to sleep. They keep one for a year and then if they can't find them a home they go to the bridge. I would take her back instead of death to her. I am hoping you are right and she has something wonderful in her future!!!!!!!! It will be a week tomorrow at 4 pm that her landed at the kennel the group run. She is there and having fun playing with the other puppies.
xx, Fern
