Monday: A Piece of Cake!

Even though my previous posts have been about my seemingly endless frustrations, believe it or not, there’s little for me to gripe about today--That’s really saying something since Mondays can be overwhelming.  The rain we had last night has knocked a lot of the pollen out of the air, and for the first time in several days, my headache is gone!  My week, at the moment, seems to be off to a good start!!    (Knock on wood!!)

I got off work a little bit early today and because it's spring-break, traffic was light.  That meant that when I got home the dogs and I could enjoy some time outdoors. It was a beautiful evening and so nice to be outside!
~CarrieAnne and Sheba (right)~
Also enjoying the evening is a wild turkey that has been hanging around our property the last couple of days. I'm wondering if she's looking for a place to nest, or just an easy meal--She's made herself right at home and has gobbled up all the bird food on the ground.
With this kind of a start to the week, and the help of a chocolate cake that I made yesterday, I'm feeling optimistic about the upcoming week--I hope you are too!!

  3. The first pic is hands down my favorite. I mean I can't eat the chocolate and the turkey kind of scares me.
I am glad your week has begun on a good note.

  5. So nice to hear that you are feeling better. Definitely knock on wood. Sheba looks like she was up to no good and got caught. CarrieAnne looks like she is striking a pose. LOL. Todd on the other hand seems tired or maybe hiding from the turkey.
Hope your week continues on a great path. The cake looks delicious.

  6. My Vickie has had such a rough day that she has not stopped eating chocolate since 5 am. Now you show this picture of that incredible homemade cake and she is off to the kitchen again.

  9. I hope the turkey decides to build her nest somewhere near and then you can watch the new gobblers mosey around.

I'd eat a piece of that cake, except I just had a muffin!

  18. Have a great week ahead. I love getting home early from work too, just 30 minutes will get you ahead of traffic and longer time with the pets outside. I look forward to coming home and going on Tugie the Toy P's "business walk". lol

Have a great week. Love the wild turkeys. We usually only get deer and groundhog in our yard. I think we had turkey's once.

  19. Hi Y'all!

I had to block the doors! My Human spied that piece of chocolate cake and was off to find your house and beg a piece!

As for me, she interrupted my admiring of the turkey hen picture. We have never gotten that good a picture although we always hear them and frequently see them.

    Y'all come back now,

  28. I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better! And to see that CarrieAnn and Sheba are getting along. Have they come to a truce?

Wouldn't it be neat if the turkey rears a clutch of chicks for you to watch?

Your cake looks a heck of a lot better than the one I made (out of a box) the other night....

    Wishing you a JOYFUL week!

  29. Hi Kim, Can I come hang out with you?! Please! I'm so missing my Reggie today and our house is so empty and lonely-I'm really needing your pups to love on. Still pondering what breed we'll end up with? Praying we will be led to the perfect dog for us.
Love the photo of the cake-yummmmm.
    Have a great evening.

  31. I have to admit that the thought that you have pollen in the air knocked my socks off. It snowed here for the past two days!

I'm so glad that you're feeling better. Headaches are the worst. I get them from my neck problems (I have one right now), and I ooze bad vibes too when I have one.

Thanks for your sweet comment about eternity with K someday. What a vision!

  38. Glad your off to a good week! I broke down yesterday after almost 3 weeks of walking 4 miles a day, and starving, and made brownies. Oh YUM!!!!
I'd love to give that little Todd a sugar and a pat on the head. Soph and I picked up her a new sister the other night while out walking. Poor little thing was starved, so we have a new baby :)
Will show soon, have a great Easter!
