The sun really shined...
It was too hot to play...
So we have sat in the house, where it's cool for these past three days....
I sat here with the dogs, when the temperature reached more than one-hundred-and-two...
And only Todd and Annie have found something to do...
But even Todd will agree it's to hot to be out and much too hot to play ball...
And so we have sat in the house--We have done nothing at all.

oh, that was too cute! sorry for the maddening weather, though! i sure hope it cools off soon!!!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the temperatures being out of wack. Roscoe goes out for 3 minutes and comes right back inside. During the week I have to push him to go out. On the weekends he stays out longer since we are out working on the yard.
ReplyDeleteHope this weather gets better soon.
ANA
To hot to play, that's bad.
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures, except the temp one. Ugh!
Ours is a bit better, overcast and threatening but nothing happening.
It's the dog days of summer at your house, no doubt about that.
ReplyDeleteSo clever! Hope the heat breaks down there. In the meantime, I like your poetry and bowl of ice!
ReplyDeleteOh Kim, thats too tough to take! At least you have air,
ReplyDeletethats not our fate!
But the temp has dropped from 96
right on down to 85.
You think 85 is plenty hot,but its not after having 96!
Jo
Sending cool breezes and rain your way! Although it has cooled off here, I spent a good part of the day inside, doing nothing. Hopefully, our monsoons will come your way.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Noreen
LOVE IT!!
ReplyDeleteOh, and Gracie said she'll pass for now... she's not really into sitting these days. lol
I love the picture of Charlie nursing that bowl of ice!!
Too hot to play outside here too. But we are hoping for a break in the next 24 hours. Hope it reaches Golden Pines as well.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh...I was giggling through this entire cute post and then I got to Charlie and burst right out loud laughing!
ReplyDeleteHope it cools off for you soon!
Great pictures and a cute story. Hope you get some cooling weather soon!
ReplyDeleteOh no - that is too too hot! I hope it cools down a bit so everyone can go outside to play!

I hope it cools down soon...
ReplyDeleteHope you will get some cool wheather soon. Its hard for the dogs. We had a lot of rain between 3-5". Some villages are overflooded....not normal for our area.

ReplyDeletepoor hot dogs. The bowl of ice looks cooling. Wish we could have some part of your hot & send some of our cool xx
ReplyDeleteAWWWWW!
ReplyDeleteCharlie, we are convinced with that last picture. ..it must be very hot out there. We are getting nice cool winds and rain here. If you want, we can mail you some...
take care,
Ginger, Buddy and Shadow
Sandy is a lucky guy!
ReplyDeleteOne tip I have heard for helping a blind dog navigate is to use scent.
Vanilla at the top of the steps, and lemon at the bottom, maybe? Those scents are easily available in extracts at the grocery....
Panting dogs.. that's all I've heard this week!!! I love the picture of all of the dogs laying around.
ReplyDeleteSeems much cooler here today ~ hopefully you and the pups can get outside.
Happy monday
Oh I love that poem! It is a bit cooler here today (at least this morning) I was walking them at 7 am both weekend days because it was so hot. I hope you have some relief and you all get to get out and about. Charlie looks like he's hogging that bowl of ice. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you were all able to stay cool!
ReplyDeleteWhat cute photos - bet the dogs are suffering in the heat. Good idea to put ice cubes in their water! Talking of water, it still hasn't stop raining here in the UK and we haven't seen the sun for so long we are all gong to get vitamin D deficiency. Pity we couldn't somehow combine the weather patterns. Lily. xxx
ReplyDeleteSorry you are having such a go of it, but I did love the photos. Todd is such a pill.
ReplyDeleteBwaaaa ha ha ha! Oh, Bunny wishes she'd written this post! It's perfect!
ReplyDeletevery cute post.....too bad you have to experience the awful heat in order to write it! :) We are sending cool thoughts your way!!
ReplyDeleteOh my that's HOT!...although, we could do with some warmth and summer over here. Apparently due to a shift in the jet stream, we are getting cold wet weather and summer never looks like arriving:(
ReplyDeleteNow, that is hot. I'll never complain about 85 deg again.
ReplyDeleteI just read about Sandy. You have a heart of gold. I can tell that he's going to repay you a million times over with love.
Hey Kim, what a great post...love Dr. Suess and your take on his prose..:)
ReplyDeleteThe pics are super..which one pooch is in the last picture? THOSE EYES!
Hope you are getting some relief from the heat...the middle of the country has cooled a bit thank goodness, but no moisture :(
take care...
Its July and I have worn a coat today and lit the fire early!
ReplyDeleteSounds a lot like the way we spent our vacation. A lot of sitting due to the heat. At least it has cooled off for a few days.
ReplyDeleteLove love love your Dr. Seuss style story! yes, the weather unbelievably horrid. Those poor puppies. I know, when our power went out for 28 hours after a storm, I wondered what "Henri" was thinking - "what are they doing to me."
ReplyDeleteGreat post Kim (Suess chef).
ReplyDeleteI see it's cooling off some. We'll try and send some even cooler weather.
Good to see Annie playing with young Todd.
Very cute.
I so wish we could have one cool day for the dogs to run and play.
ReplyDeleteThe rhyming seems to be contagious.
Wow, that is some heat. And we are complaining about what a cold summer up here. Guess we should count our blessings. Too hot to go to the lake? That's my only idea, hang in there and I will try to send you some of our cool weather.
ReplyDeleteThis post was awesome!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could write so well :)
