The Idea of Calm

Harried and hurried was the theme of the past week!  I'll spare the grueling details and just say that I felt a little bit like Todd in the picture below!  Any spare time was practically non existent and so it was a huge relief when Friday finally arrived!!
Lucas returned to see the dentist on Wednesday.  And unfortunately he wasn't happy about being there.  But as expected the dentist is recommending that the sore tooth be removed along with the 3 remaining others.  The rescue has approved the procedure, and so an appointment will be made for it to be done next week.
The antibiotics have done their job and Lucas is back to his carefree self, and is back to work stalking the cat.  Some of you asked about how he eats.  Lucas eats a dehydrated dog-food-mix that when water is added, becomes a porridge, and to that I add a little bit of dry-kibble. It's a very healthy diet that has worked well for him.  In the past year Lucas has gained almost 15 pounds (about 7 kg) of much needed weight.
Today calm is the order of the day, and I think that Todd who was groomed this week, shows that perfectly!  And even though our house by definition can be the farthest thing from calm, I love the idea of it, don't you?

  6. I think the "hecticness" on the house is much calmer and way better than the hectic world. I'd take it over that any day. I mean whats more calming than hanging with the dogs. I am hard pressed to think of anything.

  7. Sweet Lucas...my gracie has to do the porridge type dining due to her mega esophagus. Todd looks so charming in that last photo. Have a calm weekend Kim and pack.

  8. Really pleased the antibiotics helped Lucas, yay! I think it was pretty certain that the teeth, or at least the upsetting tooth, would have to come out. Hopefully this coming week everything in the world of Golden Pines will be calm.

  10. Poor Lucas. It's not fun to have teeth pulled, but I'm sure he'll feel better once they're gone.

Calm. With two 14 week old pups in the house, calm is an unknown entity. Yesterday they did take a super long nap and it was quiet for about three hours. Heavenly!

  15. It so good that antibiotics are taking care of infection and Lucas can get the rest of those teeth out! They have been a bother.

Todd looks much sharper with his pretty ears and neat trim!

PS: I make more typos while on the net than writing...

  16. such fine looking little gentlemen.
lucas in his bottom picture looks almost grand.
    and todd . . . well . . .
you can tell todd is thinkin'
    "i'm pretty darned cute!"
    AND HE IS ADORABLE!!!
i'm so glad lucas will be out of that bad tooth pain soon. I had a 'dry socket' once after a tooth removal and I literally wanted somebody to shoot me. have never known such pain in my life. and I normally have a pretty high threshold for any pain.
probably why the pictures of him sleeping always holding his head touched me so.
    xo dear heart.
    find some rest for YOU!

  18. I am so happy for Lucas. I still imagine him on the city streets with all those bad teeth (something I can relate to). Maybe it is time for a beauty salon trip for you? Todd looks so spiffy and I think it would do you some good to just get spoiled a bit too. Peace.

  22. Hi Y'all!

My Humans relish "calm". As for myself...calm moments are okay, but I much prefer the "go, go, go".

Thanks for stoppin' for a visit.

    Y'all come back now,

  24. Sometimes you only have two days of an uproar, but it seems to color the whole week, doesn't it?

Glad Lucas will have his bad teeth gone, and will feel so much better.
I have even known a couple of toothless humans who got along fine without them.

Hooray for that handsome little devil dog, Todd, who is just looking around for something to DO!

    Cheers,
    Jo, Stella and Zkhat

  39. I hope all goes well this coming week - it will be a great relief for Lucas to have it fixed. We've got a similar problem to be fixed tomorrow, only I don't know the full extent of it (if it's more than one tooth).
As for calm... I think since we reached 30 cats (more than a year ago) calm doesn't really exist in our vocabulary anymore, but I remember the sense of it very fondly!!
    Take care,
    Joan
