The Best Day This Week

Todd's Rocky Creek Scottie Mom, Lynn, always says that "the best days are the days when puppies come."
I wholeheartedly agree.  But at our house, the best day this week has been when the puppy named Cookie left to go to her forever home.
Because honestly, we are all exhausted.

It goes without saying that I have no regrets in having Cookie here.  It was fun to have her around and have the chance to get to know her.  And the dogs didn't seem to mind her, which helped.  Cookie is smart, eager for attention, and she is a pup that is full of character and has a lot of potential. However, even though she was crated most of the time, she still put our household onto its ear, and threw off our schedule.  We all know, it's just what puppies do.
So, tonight there is peace and quiet, and maybe a little bit of silent celebrating; as we recharge and get a good nights sleep.

  1. Had to laugh. The older we get, the harder it is to keep up with the 'puppies' in our life. :-)

  4. Who doesn't love puppies or kittens, but like toddlers, they exhaust you.

  6. Oh gosh - doesn't Todd look bezorsted! A good reminder to me: the heart might go "squish" when I meet a pup, but 24//7 is a different kettle of fish!!

  8. Absolute tiredness when Cissy is asleep on her dinner plate! A bit like when Boris arrived as what we thought was about 5 weeks old. The toilet training, messes, and so much more. I was glad when he grew up!!! Cookie will be much loved and will grow with memories of her time with you and the crew, happy days.

  9. I can really sympathise with you all ! That's just how we must have looked every time we had a new puppy ! Not now though, we're too old and prefer mature, quieter dogs.

  10. Hello, looks like Cookie is leaving right on time. Everyone needs some sleep and rest. Hubby and I talked if and when we ever get another dog it will be an older dog. I hope Cookie is loving and is loved in her new forever home. Happy Wednesday, enjoy your day!

  12. I adore puppies, they are fun and even smell pretty good (like a baby) but now that I have reached 66 years of age I think my puppy days are done! Puppies need children to run with and bark at!
Cookie does look like a real sweetie though, good luck little gal. Tina xo

  14. Aww, I'm so happy to read that Cookie has found a forever home, she's such a pretty girl !
I'm smiling at the pictures of tired dogs, when you bring a pup into the mix, the rhythm of life changes :)

  16. It sounds like Cookie did her job. Puppies are supposed to be disruptive and the center of attention. They are absolutely exhausting but so irresistible.

  17. BOL - so very true, but it is harder to deal with a puppy when you know they aren't there for long. Cookie was adorable and is going to be quite the handful for another family:)

  18. Rest up. Puppies are exhausting...even low energy pups. We know you enjoyed her both coming and going!

  19. Thank you for the reminder!!! Cookie sure is CUTE, and I get the yearning for a puppy quite frequently. I forget the hard parts and just remember the snuggles and play. Rest up. Thanks for taking care of her.
