Ready or Not, It's Here!!

Well, ready or not, Christmas day is here! Last week came and went much too quickly as we had yet  another sick dog, Sunny.  He is a bit better, and I'll post about him tomorrow.

Today it's about Christmas.  Our day has already begun with an early walk outdoors. We have high winds and as it blows through the trees, the dogs stand with their noses held high in the cold brisk air taking in what only they can smell.
~Can you spot Todd in this picture?~
Back inside the quiet of the morning returns as the dogs settle back in.
As I put the presents for Carl and my brother around the tree, the anticipation of what is to come filled my senses.
My heart opens wide and happiness, and hope and humbled gratitude have filled my quiet space. The call for “peace on earth, good will to all men” wraps itself warmly around me.

Christmas has come. Warmest wishes to you, thoughtful friends, from all of us at Golden Pines!

  1. Looks like you are off to a blissful start to your Christmas Day. I hope you all have a lovely time. We have two very anxious doggies here, knowing there are goodies under the tree for them. William does love having his little cousin Hamish visiting, and it's a great excuse for them to cause mayhem...oh well, we are used to it, lol. Blessings.

  6. Merry Christmas Kim, Carl, your brother, the pack and Todd. I hope the doggies continue to be as well as they can be, your heart expands even more, and everyone is happy with the Joy and Peace of the Season. Wonder in those eyes, and for those of us with a doggie or more, or a cat, to make our days so blessed and happy, we are to be thankful for each one in our lives.

  19. Hope you and all your wonderful dogs are well and happy this last week of the year! My daughter has been fostering two Chihuahuas that were found in a house with over 100 animals. Our whole family via text photos have watched as the two blossomed from scared, neglected unsocialized ragamuffins into loving and happy scamps. It breaks my heart to know people are out there who treat dogs so badly, and this episode has made me realized how special you are and how commendable your work with rescues is! Thank you for all you do. You make my heart lighter when I read your posts.

  24. I am so glad that you had a peaceful and gratitude-filled day on Christmas after all that you've been through recently. I am happy to hear that Sunny is better. I love that last photo of Todd and the golden above him (but I'm not sure which one the golden is!). Happy Belated Christmas.
