No Post Thanksgiving Energy

A much better past week with the Barkalot Brothers.
We're either getting used to their barking, or they're not barking as much. I think it may be both.
It was a quiet Thanksgiving day at home. The turkey just barely fit into a blue-enamel roasting pan that my Mom used for many years.  My brother and I always say that it's "all the love in the pan" that makes everything its used for turn out perfectly.

And if we didn't have enough to eat yesterday or have enough leftovers, this evening we are enjoying another Thanksgiving feast with our good friends and their family.
~A full fridge of leftovers!~
It's coming around on 4 o'clock in the afternoon and I've not done anything all day.

Todd, as always is about the only one that feels like doing anything.
Especially if there are those gangs of marauding deer in the woods near our house.
But even without the deer, Todd always has enough energy for all of us. He is a Scottie.

What about you?  Are you feeling energetic on this post-Thanksgiving day?

  1. We are having some post Thanksgiving quiet time due to Walter's recent surgery. No Black Friday shopping here.

  2. It's cold and rainy here and we've all been napping most of the day. The dogs had another Thanksgiving dinner today while Rob and I just smacked.

  3. So HOT down here, cleaning up more to be ready for the painter, planting some goodies in the flower garden, sorting out more to go south with our daughter when she flies home on Tuesday. No Thanksgiving here, but sending lots of love to you all at Golden Pines.

  4. They call it Black Friday because you can get killed by the nuts "shopping".

  6. It was a dreary and wet day here today, and we were all pooped out from all the company yesterday. But Misty and Timber seem to be reviving tonight and getting a little frisky for indoor fun:)

  7. I am one of those people who cannot sit still (Todd and I would be quite a pair!). So, I found energy to do a bunch of stuff- but I am tired underneath it all. I will sleep well tonight!

  8. Feeling full and contented. Hope the Barkalot Bros enjoyed their first Thanksgiving with you. Buddy decided he favored ham over turkey. My sweet little fat boy.

  12. I have one of those blue enamel pans too. They are the best for roasting. Maybe the brothers are feeling less stressed because they can sense they belong somewhere now. Yeah.

  13. In all the activity at Golden Pines, I've neglected to mention how very pleased I am that Sadie found such a wonderful home . . . but I'm also sad that we won't be seeing more of this darling girl. Whenever I feel blue, I look at her wonderful smiling face (I've saved the picture on my computer). Her smile is sunshine itself.

  14. Hopefully, the Barkalot Bros have stopped barking a bit and continue to lessen the noise. You deserve a day of 'doing nothing'....and recovering from all the evening. Looks like enough left overs to share with the dogs, just sayin'.

  15. I wish I had some Scottie Todd in me. I didn't even eat all that much. the energy is just not there! part of being older I guess.
I'm glad to know the boys are calmer and quieter. hope it lasts!

  16. No Thanksgiving celebrations this side of the pond. Black Friday seems to have evolved into an every day event, not just one day!The photos of the Barkalot Brothers reminds me so much of my first Labrador, Sultan, and brings back such happy memories.
Good for Todd keeping you all safe from those marauding deer.
