Just What I Needed

The day has been just what I needed, quiet and uneventful.  It gave me the chance to get caught up on everything from the dusting to the laundry.  Todd's curiosity about everything continued as he explored the inside of the dryer this afternoon.
Last night he became acquainted with a big toad on our porch.
I silently gave a cheer and a prayer of thanks as Rudi reached day 50 of grace today. Each day that passes becomes more of a valued treasure, time more precious.  We quietly celebrated with a very, very brief game of frisbee.  Anytime she has one, she seems happy.  It goes without saying that I'm happy too.
  I hope you've had a good weekend!

  13. Hi Kim
Aren't those uneventful days the very best? calmness thats what we all need.
Some days seem like races- don't they?
We see the moon tonight peeking from behind the forest trees. Can you see it?
    Do you feel its peace?
That little Todd is such a little cutie pie. We all smiled when we saw the photo of him in the dryer.
He is so inquisitive- isn't he?
Hopefully he got all rested up from his fun at day care.
Rudi seem to have a smile on her face as she lays there looking at you. I really do think she enjoyed her romping with the frisbee... more days of "grace" to our special friend.
The gorgeous butterflys are exactly what we needed to see tonight,,, so magical and peaceful.
As I look at your side bar,, we are kissing each little face of all the furries and they scroll

  19. Good to see Rudi is still having more good days than not. We're keeping our paws crossed for her and for Wilf. Hope Todd is learning from the older dogs which outside critters are ok to approach and which are dangerous.

  20. That first photo of Todd reminded me of a night I spent, many years ago, in a capsule hotel in Tokyo although it looks like Todd had far more space!

I'm so pleased Rudi has had fifty extra days of love with you, and hope that she has many more.

The youthful vigour of Todd and the gracious aging poise of Rudi. What an incredible privilege it is to watch this circle of life, isn't it? I am so happy that Rudi is able to celebrate her 50days of Grace. I know how much each one means...and there will be more...

  36. Wowserz! That's the biggest toad I've ever seen!! Be careful of toads -- not sure if you have these where you live, but you don't wanna come in contact with the poisonous bufo toad!

Happy Monday woofs & hugs <3,

    Todd is such a character.
I just love the picture of him in the dryer.
Was he trying to play with the toad?
That toad is big enough to be a full size ball.
I so wish we had more toads, they eat a ton of bugs and hopefully they will eat all those dreadful Stink bugs you get.

  48. Kim, I think Todd has to be the most adorable dog I have ever seen. I am so in love!! :-) I was over to visit your blog the other day, but my computer is giving me troubles, and at times things works, at times things don't. Now it is totally on the blink, so am sharing the office computer with hubby. Not fun! Anyway, a day of getting caught up can work wonders on a person. I love a day like that, when you topple into bed and feel as if you have gotten loads accomplished. And in between all that, you take time out to just relax and kick back. Sounds like a perfect day. We took a much needed day off from work yesterday and went on a little excursion to a castle along the Mosel River. I will blog about it as soon as I get my laptop back, which is where I have all the photos! It was a lovely day out, sunny and nice, and Cody got to join us. He was a perfect little gentleman among all those tourists! I was as proud as any grandma could be. Hope your day is going well. hugs, Debby
