Todd's Right

The end of a very busy, long and exhausting week came yesterday.  Carl and I both went to bed shortly after dinner last evening, and didn't let the dogs out one last time.  At about 3:30 this morning, I was awakened by Todd, sitting next to me on the bed.  We've been allowing him to sleep outside his crate at night because of his spending days inside one while we're at work. But his ears were back--A sure sign that something was wrong and on his mind.  I started talking to him and he sheepishly stretched out, rolled onto his back and started with his cacophony of sounds, telling me about what was bothering him. I knew exactly what Todd was saying.  I got up, (noting that he wasn't following me) and I found 'what' he was talking about.  I didn't say anything, but just cleaned up his little accident.  I went back to the bedroom, and there Todd sat, on the corner of the bed, ears still back, looking at me, as if to say, "I'm sorry, but this wouldn't have happened if you hadn't gone to bed early..."  Todd likes it when he's right...

Maybe he tryed to get your attention whilst you were asleep but you didn't wake in time for him . Miggs is so routined it's not funny and if we boggle that routine she lets us know. Oh well at least ya know he knows it wasn't his fault ! Hope you and your clan have a very Merry Christmas.

  7. Haha! Yup - sometimes we do it to ourselves. I was too lazy to put a fruit bun into the cupboard yesterday and just threw it in a bag on top of the cupboard last night. Banjo ate the whole thing! Yup...I'm now waiting for it to show up somewhere. Probably on my carpet! LOL!

Wishing you, your family and all your four legged friends a wonderful holiday season Kim!

  16. We shut our pups in the bedroom with us and they sleep on their doggie bed butt to butt. Usually have to get up once during the night to let them out the doggie door, but then it's usually right back to sleep. At least Todd told you what had happened and didn't try to lie about it. Good boy, Todd.

  17. Great story. I know just what you mean. My first Golden "Sunny" brought me a turkey carcass to the side of my bed in the middle of the night, asking if I meant to leave this out for him. I traded him a cookie for the carcass. He thought that was a pretty good trade considering!

You are a good boy Todd. Roooooos of pride from Easton

  20. It is so funny when they know they've done something wrong (although was it?) and then they come and tell you. I'm glad to hear that Todd told you he was sorry though. Thoughtful little guy!:)

  21. At least he let you know about his oops instead of you "discovering" it by possibly walking in it while still half asleep. He is such a cutie.

  34. Hey Golden Pines Gang, Jet here. Hi Miss Kim.

I'm telling you, Miss Kim, you and Mom MUST meet... you have way too much in common. We've had the same situation here, except, I wake Mom up and she takes me out in the middle of the night. That happens quite a bit at this time of year when the silly human set off fireworks and I'm too afraid to go out at the regular times.
