The week ended with my getting off work early and rushing home to get ready for the holistic vet to come and see Gus. For some reason, this was no easy task. It started when I gave Todd two new balls to play with. I went inside for a few minutes only to rush back out again because Todd and Gus were having a "disagreement" over one of them. Todd takes these disagreements pretty seriously, too seriously actually.
But with such limited mobility, Gus is no match for Tod; and thankfully there were no injuries. But with Cricket and the others on the sidelines taking bets and cheering on the fight, everyone was pretty excited. The scuffle was easy enough to break up, I just picked Todd up. Even in my arms Todd was trying to continue the fight; he's such a Scottie! It did take some doing, but I finally managed to get everyone settled down. All that only to have Dr. E cancel the appointment after she was already scheduled to be at our house. It was okay, another family needed her more, and I understand.
But even today Todd is still not willing to share that new red ball with anyone.
Not even Cricket, and certainly not Gus.
Forget the other new blue ball, he wants the red one all to himself.
Glad no one was hurt in the scuffle. What is it about the power of a special ball?
ReplyDeleteMaybe buy a couple more red balls? Sigh... I bet they would know the difference, even then. I imagine you had a good cardio workout with that!
ReplyDeletefeisty little todd! poor sweet old gus.
ReplyDeleteYou said it! He is sooooooo scottie!
ReplyDeleteLove the others taking bets and egging them on....BOL!
Oh and SHE recognises the restaurant...
DeleteAt our house, senior Bart must possess all chew-related objects. We had a Greenie-related scuffle yesterday. Otto ALWAYS submits, but this time it was a more vocal interaction. Lesson learned...
ReplyDeleteAfter Todd gets full possession of the red ball, he'll share what's his. Wheaten Scots are supposed to be milder mannered than Black Scots. Now, I'm a Grey Scot and that's off the chart.
ReplyDeleteWe had an identical blue tug and red tug. But both dogs always wanted the blue one.
ReplyDeleteCRIKEYS!!! who says dogs are color blind??? LOLOL.
ReplyDeletei'm so glad no one was hurt. well... feelings maybe.
but they heal quicker than bites! xoxo♥
Its funny how one toy is the favourite
ReplyDeleteLoves and licky kisses

That's because the red ball is the BEST red ball in ALL THE WORLD ...(well, that's his opinion anyhoos) lol. :-)
ReplyDeleteWell...I hope the other dogs know to leave the red ball alone...it belongs to Todd now! My friend has a scottie and he is the very same way!!
ReplyDeleteCrikey ..... I've got a Scottie mate and I learnt real quick not to mess with his ball. Must be a scottie thing, aye??
ReplyDeleteOwwww sweet scott ....with his beautiful red bal....lovely sunday ...love Ria...x!
ReplyDeleteMorning Kim, How cute is Todd with his red ball, what sweet pictures. Naughty not to share though Todd, Blessings Francine.
ReplyDeleteCute photos. Maybe you should have two red balls.. The dogs are like children fighting over the same toy to play with.. Poor Gus! Have a happy day!
ReplyDeleteOh yes,,,, kitties and dogs both are just like children,, they get so jealous,, and they want what they want - when they want it.
ReplyDeleteI hope Gus is doing okay since he missed his treatment... That is a very big stress for you having all this happen.
Well that red ball is very pretty,,,,
I agree- get more of them!
love

Oh Todd. Yes, such a Scottie! Be nice to sweet Gus!
ReplyDeleteAll it takes is having a vet drop everything else when I have an emergency for me to be totally understanding when she needs to cancel us. It sounds like you have the same attitude.
I hope that sweet Gus is doing well.
Really glad no one was injured over the new balls. Hope the other ball is enjoyed by someone!
ReplyDelete*hugs* ♥
Oh, Dear...I didn't realize doggie-boys had that much drama over balls! Serious stuff to them, though, bless them!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of your beautiful fur-babies!
Hugs,
Anne
BOL that Todd is a crazy mess.
ReplyDeleteAroo to you,
Sully

Hi Kim, I am trying to get caught up with you; the dinner sounded so fun with a blogging buddy. It's great when we can meet in person. Todd knows what he likes and is determined not to let anyone else share. Such a typical Terrier.
ReplyDeleteWe have friends who have a Cairn and there pup is the same way. Maybe not as much-he is only 1 yr old but he is what my hubby calls a bully and Hunter doesn't like it very much. In fact, Hunter will try to get on the back on my neck to get away from the dog. I've given the friendship some space and when we see them it is o.k., just don't want to always have to get the dogs together.
It is cold here today too. Hope you have a great week my friend.
Hugs, Noreen
Oh Todd, you are definitely all Terrier!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that funny how they go for one over the other? I've always wondered what that is.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you appointment got cancelled - were you able to reschedule?

My two just want whatever the other one has Kim!
ReplyDeleteToo funny . . . and same here. There can be 10 chew-bones in the house, but it never fails they'll hoot and holler over the same one. In fact, my Bones will intentionally antagonize the other dogs with that one special bone. And if someone gets it from her, she'll lay in front of them and just whine and whine. I kind of love / hate it because it's so cute and annoying at the same time.
