The first stop was at a friends home to drop something off. Bailey met their puppy, a Flat Coated Retriever named Keeper. I didn't get any photos of their meeting one another - This was partly because my friend and I weren't quite sure of what Bailey would do. We all know that not all dogs, even including a couple at our house aren't crazy about the antics of a puppy. However Bailey is not one of them. She loved him and wanted to stay and play with Keeper.
Our next stop was Tractor Supply. It's one of the few stores nearby where dogs are allowed, so I took Bailey inside. When the door opened, I heard something that sounded like spring to me. It was the sound of baby chicks. And they had plenty for sale!
Bailey watched intently as the chicks were taken out of the box.
And they had plenty of ducks too.
Bailey really enjoyed all the new smells, and meeting a few new faces too.Our little outing did the trick for Bailey. Aside from being worn out by the time we got home, she didn't cough once the rest of the day and we've both had a good weekend.

Sounds peaceful, even with the snow and a few health problems....
ReplyDeleteWe think Todd is using ESP to get something, anything to appear so he can chase it....or at least bark.
I would have wanted to rescue the baby chicks and ducklings.
ReplyDeleteTodd, look at that thick winter coat. And all good news for the others, especially Bailey having a trip out and about. Joy will get all the love she needs. Chicks, I remember a shop window full of fluffy yellow ones for an Easter display when I was about 11 or so. Heat lights above the box that filled the window. This was in what was called the " Cash and Carry " store.Everything was weighed and put into paper bags. Those were wonderful days, and those chicks warm my heart with the memory.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a wonderful day for sweet Bailey.
ReplyDeleteHello, I am happy to read good news. I am glad Bailey had a nice day out. Hubby and I saw the chick at our local tractor supply store too. They are cute. Hugs to all your furbabies. Maybe our weather will be warmer now. Happy Monday, have a great day and new week ahead!v
ReplyDeleteDespite your day home from work due to not feeling well and Joy's diagnosis it sounds like your week went pretty well. I hope it continues this week too.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about Joy's diagnosis but I feel hopeful that she'll have a good long time with you. I'm glad that your outing helped Bailey so much! I hope that your week goes wonderfully!
ReplyDeleteI remember the patients I'd care for, in the hospital, with pneumonia. They'd hate to "see me coming" because I'd always make them move when they didn't want to. *lol* But movement plays such a vital role in keeping lungs clear. I'm so happy Bailey cooperated with you and moved her sweet bootie. :-) And Joy.... darling Joy. :-( Spending the rest of our lives "living" instead of "dying", after a terminal diagnosis, is the ticket, isn't it. I know you will help Joy do that.... as no one else can. Love, Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteWe're glad Bailey had a good time and is feeling a little better. Our local Country Max is getting ready for chicks and ducklings too.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like the outing was exactly what Bailey needed. You reminded me of my sweet Monty. Monty didn't like other dogs or people either. But he loved puppies and would spend hours gently playing with them. I miss that boy.
ReplyDeleteSo what company do you order herbs from in Australia? I am always writing down things so if the need ever arises in one of my dogs that I have resources. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWE hope that Joy will have some good time left and nice that Bailey's outing did her some good. We are beginning to see that spring might be in the near future here

What a treat for Bailey to have such a great outing. All sorts of new things to see and smell.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy about Bailey's outing, and best wishes for Joy. Again, thank you so much for what you do.
ReplyDeleteWe hope the meds from Down Under help keep Joy happy. And good for Bailey getting out and about. That Keeper is adorable - guess his name came from the fact that he is a keeper:)
