Plenty of Time!

The doctor that I work for has decided to close the office until at least April 1st. My co-workers and I knew the day may be coming. In an office full of germaphobes, we supported it coming sooner, rather than later. The patients that I spoke to about rescheduling their appointments understood. However, there is always one who doesn't, and *he* is insisting on being seen for treatment that he has put off for a couple of years. So, I'm working on Friday to assist the doctor.
~A dental photo of Todd!~
So, with my new found time off, I will admit to having grandioso plans of things that I could do while I'm at home. In fact, one of my co-workers and I have made a bet to see which one of us will get that one task done that we have put off doing (because we didn't want to do it) before the office is scheduled to reopen on April first. The loser has to buy lunch. The job I keep putting off?  Just look at the photo below. This kitchen cabinet has been a thorn in my side for months. I've been shoving things into it to the point where I just about cannot get the doors to close. It's the cabinet that I keep all the dog medications and dry and canned good in.  Believe it or not, I do know most of what is in there. But I have to admit that there is also no telling what's hiding in the back or under something that I've forgotten about. Which is why it really needs be organized.
But it's after 2 o'clock, and I've not even had lunch yet. I'll think about doing that or another task tomorrow... Yeah, tomorrow .... There's plenty of time ... Right now, I need to go see what Todd is barking at.

  2. We are at home until at least April 5th. The Man can work. I have enough work to keep me busy for some time, but it will dry up as all my clients aren't receiving services (I can only get so far ahead). Yesterday was day 1 and I was all over the place. Today I made a list, and checking out blogs is the last thing on it! It really helped me focus during this crazy time!

  3. Understand completely. Yesterday it was window cleaning and cleaning of ceiling fans. My pantry is a mess, but as it has doors, I'll ignore it a bit longer!

  4. We are just learning that all K-12 schools in Kansas are now closed for in-person class for the rest of the year. A wise decision, but oh the troubles it creates for families. Mom and Dad are having their own challenges here in terms of doctor's appts. and occupational therapy for Mom, but we know they will do what the medical pros tell them is best for them to do.

Take care, and we know the pups will be happy to have you home.

    Happy St. Paddy's Day.

  5. I recently did just that and it made me feel so good. But be careful -- I put my hand over the top of a jar that was on a high shelf, felt something under my hand, a big spider! I screamed and squashed it. I guess it had plans on spending the winter in there, and I'm sorry I panicked, but it would have been dead anyway had it stayed outside in the cold.

  6. Staying home is a good option, the doggies will value your time with them each day. Let the sorting and tidying begin, but where do I start down here??? Guess I will have to decide very soon.

  7. It's good that the dogs don't need toilet paper.

  8. That looks like quite a challenge but we're sure you'll get it done. We're curious as to what your co-worker has for her challenge.

  14. As a nurse, I know all about the one patient who insists on NOW when the problem has existed for ages. What a bother!

As many dogs as you have coming and going, perhaps a larger cabinet with more shelves is needed? One basket or box/dog or cat? More space for the Jiff Peanut Butter and other community items the dogs share. Just a thought.

    Hugs!

  15. There is always one, isn't there? Sorry that you have to do that because of that one.

I have a cabinet that needs the same treatment. :( Ugh.

  16. Cleaning and sorting cabinets looks great for a while but soon it will be just the same. Relax and enjoy the dogs and buy lunch for your friend. You know the cabinet will not be any different in a few weeks.

  17. Oh my goodness - you could open your own store with all those Kim! Not so bad in our "dog" cupboard - which has a solid door thank goodness - but still quite a stash just for one dog.
I do hope that you have some time to yourself to enjoy your furry, and human, company.

  18. That cabinet is just the kind of chore that is calling to be accomplished during this hiatus. I've got a cupboard that needs more shelves and I am trying to figure out how to build shelves without leaving home.

  19. I like that you are just going to make the best of your time at home! I mostly work from home anyway, so I'm not too affected at this point, and hubby works in a small local grocery store and he's been working hard to keep up with demand!
Enjoy your time with the dogs, and you have plenty of it to get that cabinet cleaned! :)

  22. Awe Todd!! I have closed my office too, for I don't know how long. My husband and his 88 year old uncle who lives in an apartment just off the office are both high risk. Oh, I had a cabinet for Gracie that was similar to the one I see there.... only mine had been neglected for a while and when I finally cleaned it, there were maggots feeding off droppings of dog treats, etc. ewwww... shhhh don't tell anyone. All clean now. Good luck with your project.

  23. *lol* Yes, we all have grandiose ideas of what we'll do with our "spare" time... which really isn't spare at all, when you think of it. Blessings upon you, dear friend, and upon all those beings under your roof. We'll pull thru.... all in good time. Love, Andrea XOXO
